Mike Conley

It certainly isn't a fact. That's what makes it a rumor at this point. He heard it from a source that may or may not really know or may or may not have been told the truth.
Ok, I'm not holding my breath for Conley. In fact depending on the odds I'd be willing to wager a large amount of money that he's not coming here. Some of that is based on common sense, some is on whitey's source. But I'm not trying to convince anyone, we all evaluate information differently. Just passing it along.

There is more than just Whitey's source too -- there was some indication that Joerger and Conley might be at odds. Or Conley vs. the system. If it was the latter, then Joerger reportedly had some issue with the system too, so he might be able to tell Conley they were going to run something more Conley-friendly. But if it was the former, Joerger's presence might actually eliminate the chances of signing Conley rather than increase them.

On the other hand rumors are the Memphis roleplayers like Barnes and Lee may be in play for us, so we got the important guys anyway. :)

I like both Lee and Barnes on the Kings. Now those guys are irritants:)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting that Conley is coming here. I'd bet strongly against it considering the Kings history of signing worthwhile free agents. But it's easy to say that a top flight FA won't sign here. 99% of them don't. I just don't believe Whitey has any more of a source or insight into the situation that any of these other hacks that are wrong at least half the time. That's all I'm saying. I'd say the same exact thing if Whitey had said his source told him Conley is strongly considering Sac.

Terrible perspective. Mike Bibby never made an all star team and he earned and deserved a 70 million dollar contract "back when" that was a substantial sum of money.

Looks like Bibby's deal was for 7 years--> https://news.google.com/newspapers?...AIBAJ&sjid=Kq8FAAAAIBAJ&pg=6072,2552386&hl=en

And Mike was the staring PG for the "Greatest Show on Earth":)

But I concede your point:cool:

I don't blame the Players for these high $$$ contracts. In the next CBA Max Team Salary percentages will have to be assigned or NBA teams will be a trio of Millionaires and 12 minimum contracts:eek:

It took two parties to hand out that massive contract. After the Mozgov and Parson deals, owners have no one to blame but themselves.

Business had to move on, so the owners caved. The players would of as well before long, it's not as if they have second jobs lined up.
