We already did the whole lets get a known shooter and worry about defense later thing, and I'm over it. If we do indeed get Waiters, then I'm confident he can do pretty well under a real coach, which we now have.
The only silver lining I can come up with with Waiters is that he is a guy that wants to be/works best as a primary ball handler. He has played with Kyrie and Lebron and Westbrook and Durant where that was never going to happen, also only 24 years old. If they go after Waiters that all but confirms Rondo is gone, no way those two can play on the same backcourt. He kind of reminds me of Tyreke, but a version that has never been given the ball.
I think it has more to do with the Lakers being complete idiots if it's true... there are so many good centers in FA this year no way he should get anywhere near that.

And for him to be the first one they're meeting with? Kind of says a lot lol whiteside didn't even grant them a meeting, and Batum reduced them to a little phone interview. Yeesh
If anyone's getting spurned, it's them. They need to rid themselves of Jim buss ASAP, but hopefully they never do, of course
I always thought Rudy was on a favorable contract compared to others around his talent level and never understood why everyone was so quick to trade him. I really hope the Kings don't grossly overpay just because others will. It's easy for us to spend other people's money but we have to think about ramifications down the road. We might be able to trade capspace for decent players+picks from idiots overspending

Cousins will get the max no matter what, and it's going to be more than 25.
Mozgov doesn't worth that money- especially not now, if you are going to make a desperation move for an OK center in a FA with about 20 decent one's atleast don't do it the first day...
That's an absolutely filthy bad price on Mozgov....
Seriously, the Lakers might be doing our work for us. Our phones should be ringing off the hook for Koufos if a C WORSE than him is getting that sort of money.
Basically what I am seeing is think of what a players was worth the last 5-6 years and what they should be getting and add 10 mil to that. So waiters at 5 mil isn't bad right?

Waiters does not play defense, nor does he want to play defense
Waiters is not conducive to good offensive play.
He's not a good passer. He's not a good rebounder.
He's basically Ben McLemore bad as far as impact on the court, but at least Ben knows to stay out the way. Waiters won't have any problem chucking his brains out once he's out of the shadow of Durant and Westbrook.
Kings have been down that road year in and year out, with no effective results. I think it's time to stop settling and be assertive via trades if free agency doesn't go in your favor.

If Mozgov is getting 16 million, Bazemore might get 18-20 million 13-15 million for Lee, Crabbe or Waiters is in same boat. If we don't want to spend we end up with bottom of the barrell players.
Rule #1 for small markets = Acquire assets that can be traded later if fit isn't right.
