We probably view him as a undersized shooting guard and not a point guard. At shooting guard we just signed Afflalo and Temple. We still have Mclemore. We drafted Richardson. We have the rights to Bogdanovic.
Also in this market Seth would have probably gotten a offer we didn't want to match anyway. So why not make it easier for him and us and just make him an UFA.

Right now we are pretty much set except for point guard. Will be interesting to see what we do next

That's how I have viewed him. If he was a bit bigger and better creator / defender I could see him having a spot. But for the most part I see him as similar to DC in role. Our new pick Cousins might be able to fill the same roll Seth would have had, or maybe Vlade has something else lined up!

Boogie hasn't remotely failed. We've failed him.

But there is a significant chance Joerger and Vlade are trying to turn that here. This last season was wrecked by an incredible stack of injuries, but Joerger's previous 2 seasons the Grizz finished 7th and 3rd in the league in defense and combined with their slow pace allowed only 95.1 and 94.6 opponent points. We meanwhile allowed 109.1pts last year, and 105.0 the year before. I doubt we become the Grizz defense in one offseason, although if we continue to make moves to purge offensive minded personnel, who knows. But if Joerger can get the team anywhere south of the 100pt barrier defensively, that dramatically upgrades the impact of a superstar scorer, and its the way we should have been playing it for years.

Kings should make a trade for Shelvin Mack. He was actually really good after being traded to the Jazz.

Utah doesn't need him anymore now that they have George Hill. They already have a lot of ball handlers. Hill, Exum, Hayward, and Burks.

Rondo off to Chicago on a two year $28 million contract. Should be able to help the Bulls with his passing, and with their defensive capability they can make up for him playing lacklustre defense. Fair price too.

So currently we have Darren Collison as starting PG and Garrett Temple who can rotate in at PG. There surely has to be irons in the fire to get the Pg position upgraded or at least the rotation solidified if we are rolling with Collison as our starter.

The one thing that has struck me with his last two teams. They got better after they traded him. Grizzlies got better when they traded him to the Raptors. Raptors got better when they traded him to us. Maybe we will get better if we trade him if the trend continues?!

I think Crabbe is ready to breakout from Lillard/McCollum's shadows. I think the main reason why the Blazers chose not to match was because of this. They wanted to give him a chance to be his own player. He can do that in Brooklyn.

Rudy is still in his prime and on arguably the best contract in this new cap, and they are going to waste it on their Ellis crush they've had for years? Who on earth is still on this team that is infatuated with him so much? Chicago is hard up for bigs, and just signed Rondo, and they are shopping Butler. Why on earth would you not heavily pursue him with everything you have?

Let's sign a bunch of bench SGs to overpaid deals and then go after a washed-up combo guard who is over 30 and comparable to our current backup PG.

It also looks like they won't retain Curry. If they let him walk, I'm so done with this team and Vlade. I love the coaching pick, but I'm so tired of watching opportunities be wasted by this franchise.

Lopez is nowhere near the prolific talent Cousins is, and Gay is better than any 2nd option they've got on the roster. Lin over Collison is debatable but I think you are way underrating Collison on both ends.

The issue they have is that if they tank they don't benefit from it because of that awful trade they made with Boston...

- 2017 Boston has the rights to swap picks, and as a play off team in the east it will give Brooklyn a late first round pick.
- 2018 Boston receive their first round pick, no protection
- 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 second round picks shipped out to different teams

Only pick they have incoming is a second round pick from Boston next year. Outside of that they don't have their first round pick until 2019, and their second round picks until 2021. Unfortunately free agency is the only way forwards alongside any young developing players they can get their hands on.

Personally I think they could be a 20 to 30 win team next year, though perhaps they will surprise everyone and do better than that.

If Gay+KK for Butler was even remotely available don't you think the Kings would have jumped immediately? Chicago probably has no desire to trade their premiere 2-guard for an above average (but far from premiere) SF and a solid backup big.

And if Curry walking is the breaking point with this franchise after the years of inept decisions... I don't even know what to say to that one other than Curry isn't worth that emotion. He's a solid 14th man at best on a decent team.
