If he can't play, I don't think you can change that much. I'd start Davion and Huerter, but go very short leash on Huerter. Given the success they've had going small, I think Kerr doubles down on the Poole-Steph-Klay minutes and makes the Kings counter. We have seen a lot of Monk or Huerter at the 3 in this series. We are really short on smalls without Fox and Delly, so Brown probably gives TD a look or maybe (hopefully) we see some more of Dozier or Kessler.

No. Injuries are a part of the game. No asterisk needed here. Just take the end result, accept it for what it is, and move on. Look forward to next season.

(All of this, of course, if Fox misses the rest of the series, and we bow out as a result...)

I'm not sure how you can have a short leash with Huerter. Without Delly (I can't believe I just wrote that), we need a ton of minutes between Mitchell, Huerter and Monk. Huerter has got to keep firing and hope he starts to get into one of his rhythms.
 
I hate to set unrealistic expectations on the other hand we have seen put truly great players do with injuries and illnesses so I'm more inclined to believe Fox is going to give it a try and with some luck play within his abilities and be an asset. On the other hand I've also watched this team rallied to the occasion more than once this season so I'm not writing any epitaphs for the Kings yet but definitely monk we'll need to get his partners back on this.

I'd take a swing with it. Don't have much to lose at that point and Monk is a better pair with Mitchell, because he can share the ball handling and lead guard position in the offense. Coupled with the fact that Huerter hasn't been able to produce...and it also sets up the Thompson - Murray matchup, which is the better choice

At a minimum, I really hope we can take game 5 so we can force these warriors ****ers to play 7 games in the first round. I don't want to see these jokers winning anything this year.

I somehow have a hard time picturing the guys that are struggling to beat the Kings getting through either the Lakers or the griz but I've been wrong before.
 
This also highlights a roster weakness to address for next year. We really have no rotation-level 2/3 wings. Ideally you would be able to slide one of your forwards down to give yourself more options, especially if the Warriors play 3 guards, but neither Keegan nor Barnes can check someone like Poole or Klay for more than a possession or two. I have no problem bringing back Barnes next year, but it is the reason I am not sure you can bring back Barnes and sign Sasha. At some point, one of your top three wings has to be a guy that can slide down to the 2 and play defense. Ideally you would have Keegan start at 4, a 2/3 wing start at the other wing, and then Barnes off the bench.

In any event, the guys on the roster with the speed to guard an opposing teams guards and play against three guard lineup are Fox, Mitchell, Delly, Huerter, Monk, TD, Dozier, Kessler. Given that you might need 3 on the court at any time, you need more than Mitchell, Huerter, and Monk. If Fox can't go, I'd love to see Dozier personally. Maybe a...

PG- Mitchell- 36; Monk- 12
SG- Huerter- 30; Monk- 18
SF- Keegan- 32; Dozier- 16
PF- Barnes- 36; Lyles- 12

But I bet Fox plays. He will try to gut it out.

The problem with that is Monk is the only guy that could give Mitchell some minutes to rest. We saw Monk have some solid minutes as a PG during the regular season. No one else on the roster that’s healthy saw any good minutes at PG. I’d keep Monk off the bench.

That's fair. I just meant I'd go to Monk early if Huerter isn't playing well. But honestly we need Huerter. We won't win without him if Fox is out
 
Fingers can derail careers ( see John Collins although he has turned it around a bit)

I don’t know enough about the injury or anatomy for that matter but is this kinda like a broken pinky toe situation where all they can really do is tape it to your next extremity? Or more of a surgery situation?
