Don't have much respect for Shaq. Have said I never ever want to see him in a Kings uni for precisely those reasons. But it was many years ago and many miles away, and it fades. Shaq is still an idiot. But not our idiot anymore. And he very celarly was not the story for the Heat. Shaq didn't win a title. Wade did. Riley did. Shaq was mostly along for the ride.
I've always disliked Shaq for other reasons, but I never put much care into anything he said about Sacramento. Its all part of the game. But when he left the Lakers I officially became neutral on him.Don't have much respect for Shaq. Have said I never ever want to see him in a Kings uni for precisely those reasons. It'wasn't scary, but it was disrespectful considering Bibby didn't do anything to bring that comment on. He was chosen for the Olympics or whatever and Shaq has a cow about it. How is that Bibby's fault and what's Shaq's need insult him? This is when the Kings/Lakers hatred was at its peak, but at least Kobe didn't go to Shaq's level with his comments.
It doesn't matter if he called him a dummyhead, fact is, Shaq's a **** and he always has been.
It's all about hype and showtime for Shaq. You have to finally just realize that and let it go...
You know the old nursery rhyme ... Sticks and stones ...
I'm sure Mike Bibby hasn't lost a moment of sleep because Shaquille O'Neal called him a boy scout. If you continue to be bothered by it, you're renting way too much space to Shaq in your own mind. Evict him...
Hopefully all of the old fossils on the Heat will consider retirement now.
I think what kingsfannpdx was saying is Joe Dumars could have had Wade, instead of Darko=Cato/Delk.
I think Dumars made a boo boo.
You mean all those old fossils that are getting fitted for rings tommorow morning? If they are so old, and so fosill-y how did they just lay low one of the deepest, quickest, high octane teams in the NBA? Or for that matter the Pistons before them? I can't believe on the night they've actually won the championship people still want to write all these guys off. D-Wade was the main ingredient no doubt, but you need a team around your superstars, Riley built a great cast of guys with experience who wouldn't flinch in big situation, and Shaq was the catalyst to keep all their egos in line, as well as open up the entire court by drawing attention. I give props to all these guys especially Walker, talk about knowing your role and exicuting it to perfection.
Without question.
But, let's not kid ourselves and claim that calling someone a cub scout is reason enough to be so offended that he won another ring.
are you serious? "highest octane"? are you referring to 'toine? james "the blaze" posey? or perhaps GP?
Dwyane won this championship. Shaq helped. Everyone else is not very good.
how does Kobe look like a tool?
Shaq couldn't have gotten this alone. He had James Posey, JAson Williams, Gary Payton, Alonzo Mourning, Antoine Walker, and, oh yeah, a guy named Dwyane Wade who did a hell of a lot more than Shaq.
Who does Kobe have? and yet he made it (almost) out of the first round alone?
seriously i hate the Lakers but you're fooling yourself if you think Kobe or the Lakers will even bat their heads twice at the news, let alone care.
BY high octane I was refering to the mavs, you might want to re-read it genius.
lakers shouldn't care too much. heat won (barely) against a better team. and you can bet that they will be worse next year.
very sorry, read it too fast. i'm just a little down that a team a lost to a superstar.
Would the Heat beaten the Spurs or the Pistons coached by Larry Brown? I have my doubts.
Oh I doubt Kobe or anyone in the organization cares, but LA radio hosts and fans will have a field day tomorrow. I know Shaq didn't do it alone, but he certainly had an impact even if its Wade's team now.seriously i hate the Lakers but you're fooling yourself if you think Kobe or the Lakers will even bat their heads twice at the news, let alone care.
they didn't barely win. the Mavs weren't better. The Heat won in 6 games, there weren't any officiating travesties, and the Heat were a better team. Mavs were deeper, sure, but you can't have all 12 out on the floor.
I'm pretty sure that the GD Lakers won three championships with three of their starting five being "not very good."Like I said they lost to a superstar and a great supporting cast that knew their roles. You don't win a championship if 3 of your starting 5 is "not very good" you know that Vlad.
i disagree on a few points.
1) barely won: they won 3 games by a total of 6 points.
2) there were a few officiating travesties (mostly in game 5)
3) mavs are a better team. they just played worse.

They pretty much beat the Pistons last year until Wade got hurt. So that's not a big question.
The Spurs? Been interesting considering the way the Spurs were exposed a bit this playoffs. But Bowen on Wade maybe could have made the difference. (of course with Walker starting that leaves Manu on Twoine, which is not going to work, and Shaq and Mourning are significant impediments for Duncan).

minus wade, the heat are a below 500 team.
Shaq is good, Wade is great. The rest are not very good. Every shot GP, 'Toine, Posey, and J-Will take are wide open because of shaq and wade. Just like with Devean George, Bob Horry, and Rick Fox, Shaq and his superstar make the supporting cast seem better than they are.
