Favorite type of coffee?

I am a pureist, can't stand flavored or foo-foo drinks. I lke my coffee to taste like coffee. Give me a fair trade french roast in the AM with a shot of espresso and after dinner a mellow roast of Kona... Jamican blue mountain if you have it! No cream, no surgar... just 100% bean juice!

Yeah..that's what I'm talking about. I don't like the "foo foo" drinks either. They're sort of fun to make, but not for me. Even with my discount, I don't buy them because they're too expensive. Who wants to spend $5 on something sweet that hardly tastes like coffee?
I don't like to use much cream or sugar either. Adding a shot (or two) of espresso is great too.

hmmm....I like the bolder taste. I do like the African origin coffees. I also like Kona and Guatamalan. I generally drink my coffee black and occasionally like a straight shot of espresso. The most foo-fooey (word?
) I get is a nonfat latte. That's sort of like a dessert to me, a treat (no sugar).

I didn't drink it until I was about 26 or 27. Got eventually sucked in by the constant smell of brewing coffee in the office.

I get this from starbucks and also make it at home,in a 20oz glass full of ice,i add 2 equal pacs,3 shots of exspresso,then fill with half/half.For a hot drink i'll have a venti latte with 1 xtra shot of exspresso and 2 equal pacs.

Oh yeah ... my grandparents (Filipino) made coffee a really weird way
I remember when I was a kid, they'd boil water on top of the stove and put coffee grounds in there ... and it almost smelled like it ws burnt .... it would be really dark ... but, I was fascinated by the way they made it ... the way the house would smell during this process and the flavor/taste of the coffee was pretty good

I love really strong coffee (if anyone knows of a particular good, really strong coffee, please recommend), but it has to be decaf because I get too hyped up on the high caffeine content in coffee. I do also love the 'foo-foo' coffee drinks as well. Peppermint mocha, toffee nut latte, and just a plain old mocha are my favorites. The new banana coconut frappucinos are good as well.

"Mountain coffee"...love it.
I like Turkish coffee...similar process, darn strong but good.

Agreed, especially on those chilly mornings. The last camping trip I went on, someone was nice enough to get up every morning and drive down to the Starbucks down the street. They sold this big coffee package thing specifically for campers, it was great. And did you know that you can make the coolest coffee volcano by placing a big cup of coffee in the middle of your campfire?

When I make coffee at home, I'll try different brands/varieties quite often, but I always make it incredibly strong and then add tons of half & half and sugar.
When I go to a coffee house, however, I do so specifically to get a fancy drink. Usually get a venti mocha frappuccino when I go to Starbucks, and have them blend in four (!) shots of espresso. Yum. I'll go really cuckoo and get toffee nut or some other sicky sweet flavor every now and then, but usually stick to a mocha.

Very nice area, reminds me a little of camping up at Fort Bragg at Wages Creek... Although not called wages now but I still call it that.

It was a beautiful area. And just right for those of us that don't want to 'rough it' too much, but yet still love camping. We just had some big, plastic green Starbucks coffee dispenser that we took there every morning and had them fill up.

We're getting a Starbucks this fall, but we stopped at one about a month ago over in PA, and I have to admit that I wasn't all that impressed. I don't know, maybe I was expecting something spectacular, or maybe the local coffee shops around here have me spoiled. I love the mochas they make, but any ordinary morning, I'll take it black with just a spoonful of sugar.
I prefer it really strong, but no one else likes it that way, so I rarely make it.
