#FANS (Fund Arena Now Sacramento) will be at Sacramento City Hall on Tuesday, April 17th.

We will be there to show our continued support to Mayor Kevin Johnson, the Sacramento City Council, Think Big Sacramento and Sacramento.

Please join us by arriving no later than 5:30pm and don't forget to wear your white #FANS shirt. If you don't have one don't worry as you can always wear a plain white shirt to show our united support (plus you will blend in with us). Hope to see you there.

jkbiker - Saraya was incredible!

I remain so proud of all our #FANS activists who have done such an incredible job representing us at the city council. Mike, Lynne, Ron, Justin and Charlie really brought home the message that this is, in fact, #BiggerThanBasketball!!!

Thanks to all, and a special thanks to Saraya. Talk about a kid with guts. :)

Yeah, she did great!

I think Mike will be posting a special video later regarding a discussion we were having with someone outside chambers after we left. And some of us can fill in additional details after you see the video, as Mike didn't catch it all. Lynne stayed later than I did as I had to scoot home.

But I don't want to spoil Mike's surprise. ;)

Looking forward to it! I just hope he doesn't do it at his usual o'dawn-thirty! ;)

R.E. Graswich says via Twitter during the Council meeting: Mayor Johnson ready to explore ESC options without Kings. That means maybe hockey, maybe something else. Expects work to take 2-3 weeks.

At the conclusion of the meeting, KJ expanded on this statement. The Kings were the preferred tenant, and still are. However, he says Sacramento must now move on to attempt to control its own destiny. They will know within 2 to 3 weeks what their options are and are not with regard to building arena.

Then city manager spoke. He emphasized that the arena was an opportunity for economy. Thus, the focus is still on the railyards and how to capitalize on the land near the current arena in conjunction with a new arena at the railyards. In coming weeks, the city manager's team will relay their findings to the city council. Concludes that this is not over for the city.

As the arena wasn't on the agenda, we filed out after the public speaking portion and missed this conversation. Bummer.

Yeah, it's funny to watch folks reveal their ignorance. ;) Especially those in the public eye. I'm not saying another word!

The Captain was there tonight as well, but I think he felt like "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all" was a good phrase to live by. :)

So...you're saying I left too early? As soon as our mystery guest started talking at right angles to reality, I just left. I certainly didn't have anything nice to say there.

I also didn't speak at the council meeting itself, but I didn't have anything specific to say that would have gone beyond what the rest of you did, and I was well aware of that, so I figured I'd let you take it away. You can only have so many people saying "Good job, thanks, we still support an arena" before it gets to be redundant.

Though I would be interested to know what Ms. Sloan had to say to Lynne - she specifically wanted to talk to her and had her ear for quite a while. Lynne?

Mike, Capt, Warhawk and anyone else who attended and has been attending, you're all awesome. Thank you for all you're doing.
