Brick, you beat me to it. Glad someone said something. Those trade are nothing like trading Reke would be. The Webber situation with Nelson is nothing like Reke and Westy. Can't even draw parallels.
What horrible examples to try to prove a point. Billups did't become a full time starter until his 6th year, and in his 5th year was only putting up 12.5/5.5.
DWill forced Sloan out, and is a FA next summer. There probably wasn't good chemistry between Deron and the FO, and they risk losing him for nothing in a year, or go through the whole Melo/Lebron situation with him next year. Already see it happening with Dwight. I assume Sec101 was comparing Reke and Dwill, because comparing Reke to Favors wouldn't make sense.
Another problem here is all the people who bash Reke for his faults, and don't accept his age/experience as an excuse, constantly throw out names of other stars who sucked there first few years, developed, matured, and became stars. It's like some people here think stars never developed, and came into the league as HOF's. They throw out names not realizing the history of those guys, and their developmental history. They all learned the ropes! Yet, they sit here and bash Reke, and say being a 1st or 2nd year player isn't an excuse, all the while the same players they say Reke can't become as successful as, weren't in the league at Reke's age, or regular starters for their teams.
Just a wee bit hypocritical, or plain stupid when it comes to the history of player development throughout the league?
