Even though we sucked today (Mar. 19)...

Lakers still lost and we're still ahead of them in the playoff race. :) We probably won't have almost 30 TOs next game (knock on wood)... And I'm already optimistic about next season (still far away though, I know). GO KINGS! :D

(But they better do better next game  )

Who knows, maybe we can even still get the 6th spot and draw Denver. :) We can hope.

You'd think the Kings would realize it's not going to be a cakewalk... but maybe they forgot and these two bad games will snap them back to reality.

Can't slack off now. The next two games are easily loseable if the Kings come out with a half-hearted effort like todays and could leave us once again under 500 and on the outside looking in.

Definitely NOT the time of the season to be packing it in :)

It just stinks because the past two games were VERY winnable games for us.
I still think that we CAN finish in the 7th (even 6th with help from Memphis), but we cannot afford a losing strak. 2 is the limit right now. It is not going to be easy, but I still have faith!! GO KINGS!!!!

The Lakers have an extremely easy schedule coming up. They just lost on two of their very few road games they have left, and the Kings instead of making up ground, lost two as well. I'm so dissapointedit's not even funny. It's beyond belief...

I agree. But hey, maybe the Lakers will mess up their easy games too. ;)

Future's still unwritten :)

Just givin' a dose of optimism...

Out of the 14 games the lakers have remaining, 10 are at home! and they have a comfy 5-game home stand to end the season.

The Kings, OTOH, are split 8-8 home and away games.

YIKES!

I agree, Variant.

I'm just glad the Kings have a spark of life left. That was our third loss of the MONTH. We're still 7-3 for March. Did anyone REALLY honestly think that would have happened two months ago?

If the Kings plan to do ANYTHING in the playoffs, they're gonna have to win on the road because they certainly aren't going to get home court advantage. It's more about NOT making stupid mistakes and valuing the ball than it is anything else right now. If they cannot manage to do that, they don't deserve to be playing after April 17.

Nope, it sure doesn't... but momentum is a powerful thing! All the good vibes we were feeling before are seemingly gone, but just one win can bring them all back again.

I'm sure it's hard in an 82 game season to bring it every night, but now's not the time to suddenly find yourself without a reason to be motivated.

I'll accept that we were due some losses and the team has been playing excellent! So let's chalk this up to an aberration and get back to winning :)

I don't think so on the first two paragraphs, because we're going home. Which is always good.

Today was a disgusting performance and I can't even watch the games 95% of the time, but I believe the kings will make the playoffs and that alone is a great achievement and it shows a lot of heart and determination to get themselves into the position where they currently are. The Kings are not an elite team and even elite teams dont win on the road all the time so a 2 game losing streak on the road is not a shocker, but it is a disaapointment as we could have a 2 game lead on the Lakers instead of being tied with them. Losing in the first round of the playoffs would not be shameful considering where we were a few months ago. It's what you do to get yourself in the playoffs that counts. Next season will be great for I fully expect a few new personel on our roster. The kings will compete with the elite teams and we are a step or 2 away from it. We will be feared next season.

King's got NO BUSINESS lookin' at what the other teams are doing or not doing ...

Bottom-line, King's have GOT TO TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS ... and they blew this opportunity ... they litterally TURNED THE GAME OVER to Minnesota.

I realize the King's can't win them all and they're gonna win some they're not supposed to and lose some they're not supposed to ... things like that happen.

This is the HOME STRETCH and I'd like to see the King's playing with some consisitency ... and with 27 turnovers, I sure don't wanna see that as a constant.

Gotta admit .... watching the King's play .... they have MANY UNFORCED TURNOVERS ...

Whatever happened to that term: VALUE THE BALL

Another good thing to remember is that we basically beat ourselves the last 2 games. Couldn't have said that before either.

Couldnt agree more! Now is the time to play with a sense of urgency....EVERY game should be played like its our last....otherwise, very soon, it WILL be...and with no playoffs to show for it.

First game I've missed completely this year, because I'm getting ready to move. Don't think I want to watch the replay. 28 TO's! Yikes!

I think the Kings just got a little lazy as a team after the way they handled the Lakers. Things were going so well that maybe they lost a little focus or became mentally fatigued. They'll snap out of it.

1 bad (2 game) road-trip doesn't spell our conclusion for future road games.

no, but if you look at our season record on the road, it's not pretty. One GOOD road trip last week doesn't spell our conclusion for future road games either.

As could it be for the Lakers/Jazz. 2 losses aren't ending our hunt.

Yeah, it was quite... ugly live as well. :) I suppose the best I'd compare it to when it comes to the replay is a scheduled vomit. Well, twenty-eight of them with constand nausea and vertigo throughout as opposed to the shock at how bad it was for us ;)

Of course, but it showed we aren't completely horrible on the road and gives confidence, which is always good. I see the next two two-game road-trips being different, in that we go 3-1 total.

22nd at Lakers
25th at Jazz
29th at Blazers
31st at Warriors

At home:

21st vs. Seattle
26th vs. Warriors
28th vs. Wiz

id hate to say it but I told you so..... This team, oddly enough, got overconfident and thought it could strut through this road trip. I have confidence in them to snap back like they did after the loss to the lakers and get on some sort of run to push them ahead.

As mad as I am about today's game, the sole reason for the loss was turnovers. We will not see a repeat of today's game for the rest of the season. Also, the Lakers have had a tendency to lose games to bad teams. Hopefully this trend continues.
