Even though it's too early to say...

Geoff

Starter
...I want to be the first person to say that if the Kings either make it to the WCF this season or beats San Antonio in any playoff series they may have this season, the entire NBA should fall on its knees before Geoff Petrie and say "WE ARE NOT WORTHY! WE ARE NOT WORTHY!" Heck, they should probably just hand him the GM of the year trophy for the next decade if that happens.

I'm just saying. I'm glad the Kings won, but I guess i was subconsciously hoping for a statement win for Webber. However, a win is a win, and by March 28th we'll have a better idea of what's what.

And as for Sacramento and Geoff Petrie, if the scenario I just mentioned goes down...you think the Governator would mind renaming the city Petriville? Maybe declaring a statute that every fifth child born within city limits be named Geoff (that's a law I can live with :D). Or free parking for life or something, heh heh.

I'm holding out some hope!

It seems like Kings basketball has been about a team style of play and not about superstars. It trully was touching seeing Webber out on the floor.

The very last play tonight was amazing .... Webber and his old backup playing to the last second, tumbling to the floor, and then smiling at each other. What an amazing statement!!! These guys really are like a giant family and it sucks to see that decisions had to be made. I by no means think that C-Webb was always in the right, but may we pay our respects to him upon his return!

Nonetheless, we have a very interesting group of guys playing for us now. All very skilled guys, but no one true break out star, maybe this will be just the recipe that the coaching staff needs to move us through the playoffs!

Remove the egos, get the ball moving, get some real energy out on the floor ... a team energy, maybe we got something, yea?!

Yea, I know, I'm getting a bit giddy, but as a fan, you have to hold out hope and focus on the positive right?!!!!!!

Long way to go yet - we barely nipped a sub-.500 team and should really have lost it. We got outrebounded again (although not crushed) + gave up a couple of terrible ones off missed FTs. We allowed 99 more points, + it would have been 100+ if they hit their FTs.

The positive is that the new guys all played well, but I sincerely doubt the Spurs were sitting at home watching this and going uh-oh! :)

No, they were busy losing to the Grizzlies at home

Mavs lost to the Suns as well (apparently on a blown call with Marion blocking/fouling Dirk as time expired). Still, Kings have a much more realistic shot at catching the Mavs than the Suns.

CW and KT impressed me for their first time out. Kenny is really quick and can rebound. Corliss is ... well, still The Big Nasty. Love it!!! Their two stat lines were +6 reb and +17 pts vs. CWebb. Not bad at all. But interior defense, what a concept!!!

"...and the Mavs get SCREWED on their homecourt!" - Grant Napear

I want to be the first to predict that Mark Cuban's mouth will cost him at least $1m on this one.

:D

If that means that 1M will keep him from jumping up and down like a fool then I say double it and slap him with 2m.

Corliss showed some "D" he didn't have before. He was playing like he did in college which actually earned his nickname.

I don't mind fouls the way he was handing them out. Basically he was saying if your gonna go inside your gonna get knocked on your *** and thats what he did. Like that and think his stint with Larry helped to develop a lot of that.
