ESPN Rumor: Brad/Salmons to Chicago?

Geoff wants to ditch out Miller and/or Beno's contract and to do that I think Salmons has to be attached...however, IMO Brad can be moved in the off-season if needs be and he's an expiring next year. If you can't move Beno, then don't move Salmons unless it's a great deal.

Is this Geoff posturing to get OKC to up the ante with their 5 first round pick and 5 2nd round picks over the next two years???

This makes no sense in any possible way. I dare anyone to come up with a way in which this even remotely helps the future of this team. Anyone.

Umm, Andres Nocioni invents a time machine, goes back in time and taunts Webber into getting ejected from the game before blowing out his knee? Could happen.

You don't generally rebuild by taking on mediocre 29 year old small forwards who have 4 years left on their deals.

To think we might soon have Beno and Nocioni signed up for $12 million soon. Oy.

Look, if the deal goes down, it's just a glaring admission the roster needs a radical shake-up. We're pathetic. We need new faces, new attitudes, a new team dynamic, roll the dice a little, and bad contracts be damned.

I don't study contracts as much as you guys do, but if Noccioni is making 7 million a year, that's about average for a NBA player who is in an 8-9 man rotation, so it's not horrendously bad like the double digit millions money we owed annually to C-Webb and Bibby before dumping those two.

No, it's horrendous. This team needs to be shaken up by letting young guys play, not clogging up the roster with more mediocre vets. You don't rebuild by taking on mediocre 29 year olds with horrible deals.

Well I could understand from your point of view but there must be a crap load of better deals out there than this. Nocioni and Gooden aren't going to make us any better so this trade is really our crap for even worse crap along with a even bigger contract in Nocioni. Not only that but Gooden and Nocioni would steal minutes from the young ones thus slowing down their development.

And I would also like to add that if this is the best deal Geoff can come up with and for some absurd reason makes this trade than I think we have to seriously consider letting him go. This is the kind of deal you avoid when your a young team trying to rebuild.

Like others have said this deal doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Maybe Petrie is desperate to move Brad and this is the only way to get it done.

One thing seems certain, Salmons is on his way out.

One of the many thing I dont understand ..

If Salmons is so popular like Amick says, and 12 teams have called about him, then why are we settling for this? It accomplishes nothing ..

Gooden still blocks our young bigs and Noochh blocks donte and Garcia ..

That's why I don't believe it. To trade Salmons, Petrie has to be holding out for a young guy with talent. If he doesn't get that, then what's the point?

(1:36 p.m.)
* There are indications that the Chicago deal is close to done, and it involves Portland.
Ike Diogu gets moved for Ruffin.

So we still get Noc and Gooden for Miller and Salmons?

This would be laughable if it was happening to another team.

OMG. What do we do with Noc? What do we do with Gooden?
There is no point for this trade. We already have Garcia. Why do we need Noc?
Simmons and Diogu are busts. What the heck is GP thinking??

Amick:

Ike Diogu comes to Kings for Ruffin.

Oh dear lord. I like Diogu, but this is just insane.

so this is our move? trading our crappy big man and selfish wing for a more crappy big man and a less talented wing with a much worse contract? really?
