Its pretty simple with this series. In the playoffs all of your sets are scouted out, your plays get busted early and players have to make individual plays. If you have a great isolation player or two you have a real good chance at advancing thru. The regular season is more for 3 point shooting, ball movement and transition. But in the playoffs for the most part it becomes a stars game. When your star is 5'9 and has a game predicated on getting to the foul line it becomes a problem.
Man I wish we would have found a way to get that Rondo/Cuz/Gay team into the playoffs somehow(Maybe if Joerger came a year early). That team was built for slow playoff basketball. IT is a great offensive regular season player but as you can see in the playoffs being 5'9 makes you a net negative when your constantly being picked on the defensive end regardless of how much you can score.
So is Ranadive a genius for seeing this and not extending IT??
