Do we have to give a specific year of a player we draft?

and what about players playing out of position?

What happens if they both want the same player? Is it the first to post the pick?

First to post.

It should give incentive to make the pick faster.
IT would suck to have your potential player taken by someone seeded lower than you, and it would also be a motive the lower seeds to draft faster.

I think 1st pick will be single protected and then will go into double teams on the clock from there.

Players are chosen from 'In Their Prime', so whatever that means to the eye of the voter.

And players can play where ever you want them. If you think it would be concievable to put a long time PF at SF go for it.
But would it work in the eyes of the voter. Could you see this PF convert taking on some of the great SFs of all time?

For the first round you may want to implement some kind of delay feature so everyone gets a shot at their # 1 (12 hour window minimum?), or maybe the option for person #2 to take person #3's pick if they picked before #2 did if there are no windows, for the first round only. Just to make sure everyone gets a fair shot at "their #1". Just an idea.....

I got the ultimate super sized players team ready ;)

Just remember, Robert Traylor was traded for Dirk Nowitzki. He must be good :).

I can't wait to get this thing started. Have no plan whatsoever, but hope it turns out for the best.

PS. I call Oliver Miller :p

The Sabonis Clause --- If you are a Euro League crossover, but your prime was in Europe, voters can choose to look at his European prime, as opposed to NBA prime.
Choose carefully! If a Euro Star was a megapower in Europe, but flopped in the NBA, he is going against top-tier all time talent! Voters need also to take that into account!

DEADLINE FOR SIGNUPS IS WEDNESDAY THE 22nd!

Lets fill this thing up!!!

Do you think we need 24 people? Maybe 20 or even 18?

We'll see how much we have by the end of signups.
And I like 24...As Bricklayer said.

I like the idea of 24 people so that we actually get down into the pool of players a bit -- it would be hella boring if it was just a bunch of my Magic/Bird/Havlicek/Kareem/Mailman team vs. your Stockton/Jordan/LeBron/Barkley/Wilt team.

Any number is fine with me, but lets not forget that this is a 14 round draft, not a 5 round draft. even with 20 or 18, we're still gonna get deep into the pool of players. That's still 240 players n 40 coaches

Yeah, I think 24 would be good, but I don't know if that many people are going to want to join. I don't really want people to join if they are just going to put their name on the list and then not forget about it or just be too busy to do it. There should be at least 18 people though.

Are you asking whether they can be a coach on one person's list and a player on someone else's?

i'm in if its cool

You're in!

My call on player/coach eligibility is...

If an "In Prime Coach" is taken before an "In Prime Player" (or vice versa) the person taken first is the one who stands.

Example:
Round 12: Player takes Avery Johnson as Asst. Coach.
Round 19: Player takes Avery Johnson as 12th Man CheerLeader.

Round 12 gets possession of Johnson as they called the individual first.

In closing, if a drafter drafts a player/coach in the league, the drafter gets to decide what said player does for his/her team. If the drafter decides a player, the coach would now be gone as the earlier decided player would now be tied to the drafted team as a player, and not a coach.

Make sense?
:)

So this draft is starting tomorrow. It would be great to have at least 16 members so we could have an NBA style playoffs. Currently we just need 1 more member to make 16. Do we have a deadline for the first pick to begin? Noon tomorrow? I guess it all depends on when the draft order is set...

Ok, I'll join.

If someone really wants to have my spot and chimes in before the draft starts they can have it, but for now you have 16 teams.
