Draft Derrick Williams!!

Yeah, Williams is built like a football player. There's nothing wrong with Irving's athleticism. His game reminds me a lot of Paul's. Very similar style, and a quiet scorer. By quiet, I mean at the end of the game you see he has 23 pts and you don't remember him getting that many. He's just very solid without all the flash. And I would definitely say that he looks to pass first and shoot second. Frankly, I'm getting a little sick and tired of this "Pure Point Guard" stuff. They come in all shapes and sizes, and all you need to do is find the one that fits the needs of your team the best.

If you have a team made up of very good passers at most if not all the positions, then you don't need a pass first PG. Similar to when we had Webb, Vlade, Christie, Peja and Bibby. Right now, our current team is leaning in that direction, with Cousins, Dalembert, Thornton, and Evans. The only hole is at SF, as far as passing goes. Which is one of the reasons I'm a little more high on T. Jones than some others might be. He's a very good ballhandler and passer. However, he hasn't declared for the draft yet, so it may be a moot point..

I don't know what smills' standards are, but Irving is a pure PG by my definition.

I'm fairly certain Jones will declare. Do you think he wants to compete for touches with Gilchrist and Davis?

Were in agreement on Irving. As for Jones, can't say for sure, but I wouldn't. He didn't get that many touches last year per game, and he was probably the number two option. However, from Kentucky's point of view. They would have a hell of a lineup. Anthony Davis at center. T.Jones at PF, Michael Gilchrist at SF, Brandon Knight at SG, and Marquis Teague at PG. They'd have Kyle Wiltjer coming off the bench at PF or C, along with DeAndre Liggins, Doron Lamb, and Darius Miller.

Thats assuming that everyone came back. If so, your looking at a possible national championship team.

When I say fit, I'm not just talking about basketball skills and position. I'm also talking about the fact that the Kings are incredibly young and don't really need more youth. I see this team being in a position to take a big leap forward next year and in my opinion dealing for established talent would be a better decision than another rookie who will need a year or two to develop and really contribute - especially in what I view as a very weak draft.

You can't have enough talent in the NBA. If you have to sacrifice talent for experience, I'll take talent every day. If the experienced guy has the ceiling of the draftee, then great, go with that. But otherwise I'd go with a young talent.

Although it can be frustrating at times waiting for young players to get it. The reward can be great. I won't deny the need for some experienced leadership on the team. But at the same time, I'm not going to pass up a chance to draft a quality player for the future.

Disagree with you on both accounts. 1) Irving is not a pure PG in the Stockton, Nash, Calderon sense. He's more of a PG in the Paul, Rose, Williams sense but with less athleticism. 2) I think we need to upgrade the 1 position much moreso than the 3 position. Between Greene, Casspi, Garcia and even Tyreke the minutes at the 3 are fine, if the minutes at the 1 are augmented. Also, if you are into thinking this way, I think the 3 is easier to upgrade in free agency than the 1 would be.

of Greene, casspi, Garcia the only guy I want to keep around is Casspi, and we could definitely do better than casspi with a top 6 pick. If we even end up keeping him. donte Greene has regressed to the point of worthlessness. he doesn't have the same defensive ability this year and all he does on offense is chuck 3 pters and he's shooting 29% which is awful. he has no value. Garcia wouldn't stop for any other team in the league, and poor decision making once again ruins him IMO. we could do so much better at sf. I am not convinced we have an answer for this year at sf, much less long term answer unless casspi can step it up a notch next year. having a bunch of people is not depth. our sf position was by far our weakest position on the team and our Achilles heel on offense and defense.
