I....didn't really fall for that one
not really sure what the upside is considering all the odds are against him on even making a rotation. if he makes it through, he's likely never starting next to Fox unless you want the smallest backcourt in the league with questionable shooting.
Imagine in 2017 if we picked Donovan Mitchell at 10. We'd all be like what the hell are we doing? We just drafted Fox and Hield is the future. There's no minutes!
Of course I have no idea if Carter will turn out to be a player or not but I get picking the guy you think is the best player available.
I don't mind them picking a guard, I just don't understand why you're picking a 6'2.5" combo guard who has only had 1 out of 3 years of shooting over 32% from 3pt, and is a career 72.3% FT shooter.
So do Mitch Richmond and Kevin Martin
Smallest? Cavs seemed to go pretty far and they were even smaller. Carter ain't getting munched by SG's, bet on that. Might send a few home crying to mommy though.
carter doesn’t shoot nearly the percentage Keon does. Hate this pick as much as I hated the Davion pick.

Cavs have a front court of Mobley-Allen... we have Barnes-Sabonis.Smallest? Cavs seemed to go pretty far and they were even smaller. Carter ain't getting munched by SG's, bet on that. Might send a few home crying to mommy though.

I don't think so either, which is why I would've preferred someone like TDS.I don't think Barnes is in the long term plans here.

oh well. not a fan of this pick at all, but I'll stop. don't want to drag the discussion down.
Might be because he projects as a an elite athlete/defender that navigates the floor like a monster truck.
Defensive dog with a huge wingspan and legitimate star upside. How doesn’t he help us?Well crap.. Don't need this guy... Who cares how good he is if he doesn't get any playing time or if he's playing and winning with Stockton. How does he help the Kings now?
I'm not comparing the 2. I'm big on Ellis. I'm just saying in terms of trade value, Ellis has high value ... Now if the right opportunity comes along & a team wants Ellis, they'd be more willing to make a deal.
