with the new article about KG needing some help. what do you folks think about shipping bibby, miller or any of our big contracts to minny for their lottery pick? i know they're a division rival but that lotto pick is very tempting. do the yhave any expirings also?

Read somewhere that Minny can't trade their pick this year, because they owe Boston a pick next year, and you can't trade picks from succesive drafts.

Isn't it a little early to be speculating on this? In particular since we don't even know yet what order teams will be picking in. We might have a better pick than Milwaukee already, which would sort of rule out swapping picks wouldn't it?

Its certainly an idea -- not only Minny, but to any team in the lottery in "win now" mode. Chicago and Phoenix too (who own picks from other teams (NYK, ATL). Offer them a vet for their pick and cross your fingers. But until the lottery order is sorted out, who know if they accept, or if it is worth it to us.

Also note the a) significant possibility that we reverse course once again in the face of impatient Maloofs and go back to tryignto "win now" in the offseason; and b) that Geoff has NEVER, so far as I know, traded for a pick, traded up toget a pick, or generally done much of anything on draft day other than pick in order and go home. Does not mean he never would, but the impression has always been that the lottery is something to be endured for him but that he is far more comfortable dealing with proven quantifiable vets than gambling on unknown quantities in the draft.

... and that makes me increasingly uneasy about our "rebuild"

A draft day trade of my own:

Artest/SAR/#8 pick (Splitter? Horford?) to Bucks for Simmons/Villanueva/#4 pick (Brandan Wright)

Most draft boards (take them for what they're worth) have Spittler dropping into the 20's and Brandan Wright (Fr. PF from UNC as a solid #3, basically it looks like those sights have Oden/Durant, then B. Wright as the 3 best far and away if they all come out and #4 is Julian Wright (So. SF from Kansas) so if that's the case I guess a trade of Ron would give us a new Ron in Julian Wright plus a big physical force in Charlie V.

I like the premise of the deal but that Simmons contract (about 3 yrs and 30 mil left after this year) is a beast and they want him gone bad from what I have heard. That being the case is it worth it and since they want him out bad would they take #9 instead of SAR?

Ah, the fun of speculation about trades and the lottery huh?

I agree with LPKingsFan 100% which makes me think that perhaps he is not the right person for the job and a rather lackluster performance record on his part merits further conversation and analysis......

This league is all about winning and what have you done for me lately, well, what has he done lately, if ever......

J. Wright may not come out, and gets Geoff's *** kicked for drafting another twerp, so he had better not.

Vullanueva BTW has some talent, but he's anything but physical. Major issue wiht him is he's a softie, almost a 3/4 tweener. Has size, but quite comfrotable on the perimeter, not going to rebound or block shots for you, and is not big into contact.

We should love him.
