Donte

I tend to agree. I think it's highly likely something happened off the court, and the team is keeping it in house, and it's the best route to take. I said in another thread it's not our business, or right to know what happened. Fans don't need to know everything which happens behind the scenes. Let the team deal with it.

And that is exactly why all these fans bashing Westphal for not playing Donte is absolutely rediculous. At this point no one knows what happened, so why do fans tend to bash Westphal and give Donte a pass? Happens in every game thread, and if Donte doesn't play tonight, there'll be fans calling for Westphals head in the game thread tonight.

I love the fact that you agree with Donte not playing because of an in house incident but bash those who don't take both sides.

Chances are, if Donte retweeted fans saying give him more gametime, he wasn't suspended for drug use or a locker room fight/heated argument.

There's plenty of reason to be mad if your starting SF is now 12th man in 2 games and you are losing games because of it, and your coaches won't tell you whats really going on. If you don't like talking about this highly important subject then don't enter this thread.

How can you pick a side without knowing all the facts? I'm not bashing either side because I don't know the facts. I never said anything about Donte doing drugs or getting in a fight. I just said I think it's likely something happened behind the scenes which Westphal is keeping in house. So how can you blame Westphal without knowing more about the situation? How can you automatically assume Donte is in the right and it's not his fault he's not playing? If Donte did in fact screw up and did something would you rather Westphal broadcast what happened to everyone so his potential trade value would decrease?

What makes you think I shouldn't "enter" this thread and offer my opinion?

How about you not tell someone who shares a different opinion than you to leave the thread.

I didn't realize the coaches hadn't told him what's going on. Is that new news?

1 or 2 games is fine if theres an incident, but the team flat out saying that Donte is the 12th man is showing that he will not be playing in future, and that is total BS without knowing an explaination.

I bet Donte knows why. And that is what matters. PW isn't going to just arbitrarily sit someone who could help for this long.

If doubt he knows if he is retweeting his fans asking why he is benched, it pretty much shows he is as confused as us.

My question is, and sorry if I'm quoting you without you without you being super defensive of PW I'm just throwing out another side to the argument - who is to say there ever was an "issue"? Too little knowledge on this subject right now. We can't be for sure PW would or wouldn't bench someone without a reason as much as we know right now. Donte has never struck me as the type of guy who would get into an argument/fight with the coach - he was always very accepting of his role in past years not playing and seems to do the same right now on the bench.

I mean really we're trying to accomidate a 6'11 240/250lbs player being forced into SF play right now when we had one during pre-season that was deemed too 'big' for the position. That's confusion.

Someone please tell me a trade is in the making (YES, one involving Greene and either Landry or Thompson) for a guy like Iguodala or Josh Smith..
Theres no other good excuse to let Donté rot on the bench =/

donte posted on twitter that he had to take a drug test, and that he doesn't do drugs. so it looks like it may be marijuana related.. but I think it's stupid to penalize someone for smoking pot when people are out driving drunk which is infinitely more dangerous

Pretty sure all NBA players (and athletes in general) need to take drug tests (just ask Mark McGuire, Kevin Williams, Shawn Merriman, Brad "Sir-Tokes-A-Lot" Miller and many others). Donte just happened to tweet about it.

That was the lead story on Kings.com this morning. Notice who's missing? What the hell happened.

I don't know, but one thing's for certain, the organisation is not pleasing the fanbase in any sense now. Not playing the young guys, not winning games. It seems the Kings only goal this season is to let the fans get to watch the Heat Celtics and Lakers play at an arena near you!

Other then Wright getting Donte minutes which is really ridicules, I can understand and preety much agree with coach W.

I mean Head so far played great D, which is the only reason he got a bump in his minutes and rightfully so imo.

D-block atleast untill the Suns game, brought the goods everytime he stepped on the floor and really earned his minutes...And Donte and JT don't deserve to get minutes from -Reke, Landry, Dally, DMC, Omri, Cisco, and Beno.

So basicly I can't blaim coach W here, cause frankly, his *** is on the line here, and if you're Westpal and Head and Jackson play really good and make us look good out there when they're on the floor and help us make runs, then why not give them more minutes?

Wright over Donte is absord, but other then that I completly understnad coach for his actions on this subject.

Definitely don't think it's strictly Donte having been beaten out in practice for a spot in the rotation. Obviously runs deeper. Quite a statement by the Kings only 8 games in.

I wonder if he's going to get more minutes now, he might even start.

He better because there is absolutely no logical explaination as to why he went from a starter to DNP-CD. It is just retarted.

Donte should be starting or at the very least getting major minutes at SF.

JT is as much a SF as I am NBA player.

IMO Greene and Casspi should be the only ones at SF this year. Noone else.

Should be Tyreke, Cisco, Donte, MANdry, and Dally.

I would normally disagree with this, because I think Beno's PG skills are needed, but Beno is really struggling. I know someone is going to point out his scoring in this game, but he looked off just the same. He also isn't gathering the team and being the brains that the team needs.
