Successful Scenario
Due to Denver and Sacramento being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Denver and Sacramento had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Why for Kings?
The Kings will receive a defensive center who can shoot, and a defensive power forward. Kenyon Martin is injury prone, but he is an improvement over KT.

Why for Nuggets?
They move Martin's contract and receive an offensive minded center who can score alot. They need points, so they get this through Brad Miller, and another potential scorer in Garcia.

Though many of you don't like Kenyon Martin, the guy has talent and doctors are saying his knees ARE improving a lot. The guy put up great numbers on one leg last season, he should do great in a new enviroment and with two legs this year.

What do you think?

uh.... id love to get rid of thomas.... but hell no.... what would we do with reef? if you think thomas was a pain the behind..... martin will give you a stroke....

I'm down, but I don't think Denver would be. Miller and Garcia can spread the floor a little for them, but why would they want any part of KT and Corliss?

Kenyon Martin and Marcus Canby for Corliss, Kenny, Brad AND Cisco?

NO WAY!!

I cannot understand why people would even think about bringing injury-prone players to Sacramento? Might as well run over them with a truck as they're stepping off the plane. It'd save all that waiting for the inevitable to occur.

We have a K-Mart. We don't need Kenyon Martin.

Corliss is an expiring contract and KT is added to make the salaries balance out (and for us to get rid of him ;) ). We could add a pick to make the deal better for Denver.

I'd prefer to have Kenyon Martin start and have SAR come off the bench. Martin is coming off of his worst year, but he still had more points per game and rebounds than SAR. The guy is a great defender and can block well. I believe he'll improve this next year, and SAR has no problems coming off the bench (or he didn't have any problems last year.)

Deal better for Denver? Dude, you so missed my point!

SAR had no problem coming off the bench behind KT because he was coming back from a broken jaw. I strongly suspect he might be a little irritated about being relegated to the bench behind Kenyon Martin, and I wouldn't blame him.

Martin IS coming off his worst year and there is NO guarantee he'll get better. SAR, on the other hand, will most likely do better next year than he did this year because of the jaw, the related fatigue, etc.

Sorry, but my vote is no way, no how, ever.

We have a K-Mart. We don't need Kenyon Martin.

First, Miller is as injury prone as any other players. Kenyon Martin is a large improvement over KT, and i'm positive he'll have a better year next year.

Second, Garcia IS a great player, but we have many swingmen already. Will he find much time when we have Martin, Wells (If he re-signs, then this deal might not be that great if he doesnt), Artest, and Douby? We NEED defensive centers/power forwards, and thats what we get in this deal.

Camby is an improvement over Brad Miller. Camby might not be as strong offensively (he still has a good jumpshot though), he is LIGHTYEARS ahead of Miller defensively. The guy is old, but only two years older than Miller.

We never use Corliss, so he is expendable.

Hey, we'll agree to disagree. I'm nowhere near as impressed with Kenyon Martin as you are, obviously.

Peace.

Denver would say no, they're not trading Camby. Their whole defense is based around him. Kenyon's way better than KT too.

are you out of your mind... include a pick too!?!?!? lol.

both of those players have a history of injuries. they'd have petries head if he pulled the trigger onthat one. can you imagine if BOTH of those players would go down in the middle of the season?? it would be reef and potapenko on the front line for us. LOL HELL FREAKING NO WE DONT DO THIS TRADE.

KT, potapenko for camby wouldn't be bad. denver wouldn't do it tho.

kenyon's KNEE is busted up. thats a huge difference than miller's elbow or some other area. kenyon relies heavily on his athleticism whereas miller relies on skill.

sure we have a glut of talented swingmen, but why give him away?

corliss is a commodity bc he is in his final year of the contract! how many years left on kenyon's contract?

Both highly unlikely that teams switch starting frontcourts, and highly unwise as well. Way too much.

As for Camby -- age is a major concern for such an injury-prone guy, but he's still a force. Figure Denver HAS to do something with their ridiculous $$$ frontcourt, so who knows, if Martin is as untradeable as expected, maybe they have to resort to Camby. But its beyond nutty to take back the Martin contract as well, even if such a thing were possible.
