Deadline trade - Clips/Kings

I think the real solution is to merge the Kings and Clippers into one team and have them move to San Jose...imagine this lineup!

Martin/Gordon
Thorton/Garcia
JT/Randolph
Camby/Hawes

I'd drive to SJ to see that team play ;)
 
I doubt anyone would want Beno at his price. In a dream world I think this could be a really good deal for us to shed some salaries. Dallas get short handed but I think Kings and Wolves would do it

Beno to Dallas
Stakhouse to Sacramento (only $2 million guaranteed for next season)

Then

Shelden Williams and Mikki Moore to Minnesota
Rashad McCants and Jason Collins to Sacramento.

Beno deal we do to get out of his deal. We take on more salary for this season but make a massive saving over the years.

I see no reason for Dallas to do it :D

The Timberwolves trade is a way to offset the salary for this year a bit and make a saving on the 2 million we would have to pay out for Mikki.

Wolves do it to get some frontcourt depth for teh remaider of the season and we do it to get out of Mikki's $2 million for next year.

In these 2 deals, Kings send out some $14.6 million in salaries for this season and get back $15.8 million. An increase of $1.2 million for this year but a massive saving for years to come.

With Stackhouse paid out $2million next year and McCants and Collins expiring deals, we clear almost $14 million from cap next year.

So next year, the only bad contracts we would have is KT and Nocioni and KT would be an expiring deal. A fair bit of salary flexibility to make trades and sign FA when we wish to do it.

Far fetched I know but I wouldn't be against even trading our second round pick this year to Dallas if it helped in convincing them to take on Beno's contract.

EDIT: I am not sure if these deals put us over the luxury cap for this season. If they do, then they have no chance of happening but if they don't, one can hope :(
 
Ricky Davis is traded a lot as he is a bummer in the locker room and has a validated bad rap attitude. Besides he is a shooter period and at the 2 where we have Kevin/Cisco and now McCants.

bum deal. makes no sense. Beno is here for some years. I like Beno and think he can help anyway.

Personally I don't care if Ricky Davis sits in a corner while cying and peeing himself through the 09-10 season. It would be great to unload Beno's contract for another one that expires in 2010 instead of 4 years from now.

I am good with McCants and Jackson as our guards for the rest of the year. We'll worry about next year later.

Not really a guess but joining the dots more like it.

I think it was Sam Amick that reported a possible deal between the 2 teams that would see Shelden and Douby go to Wolves for McCants.

I just modified it a little bit but there was no reason why we shouldn't at least take a flier on McCants and see if he is worth keeping on the cheap.
