De'Aaron ≠ All Star

De’Aron not making allstar team even as a alternate just makes me SMFH. What a snub. I’m effn furious. If Recee has had their child De’Aron has already won the biggest honor of all. Welcome to fatherhood and congratulations to you and your new family.

Fox has a son already.

I've thought Fox was on the cusp of being an All Star for a few weeks now. His awol moments in games caught up with him. Sabonis was a lock imo; he never fails to bring it.

It would be easier to take if this boiled down to performance, or winning or something tangible and consistent that we could pinpoint. Unfortunately, NBA players, fans and media alike are confused.

Fox had some AWOL moments in games while George was just AWOL for ~40% of the games period.
Give me a break. This was a rep/favoritism situation and that's that. We don't need to pretend it's anything else when even the players are surprised. Nobody had George in the final wildcard spot. You can of course justify it with "oh this happens when he plays/doesn't play/yadda yadda" but it's just chickenshhh and it actually does the league harm not to showcase one of its best young stars to put in a guy who takes nights off for load management and there's no guarantee of seeing him when you buy a ticket.

Why the hell is a guy who skips league games even playing in a midseason exhibition? That should be an automatic DQ. If there's one consolation to the snub (assuming he doesn't get put in as a replacement) it's that he will get some rest/no risk of freak injury and hopefully quality time with his growing family.

Rep, as in King's rep? Rep is part of it. If all it was was rep as the factor then Sabonis wouldn't have been awarded an All Star slot either. He is a King, after all. Or are you referring specifically to Fox's reputation vs. George's? Yeah, maybe Fox should have gotten the nod over George, but maybe not. Like I said, I thought he was on the cusp, not a lock like Sabonis. It's one of those arguable points either way, imo.

Yeah, there is no objective formula for an All Star berth. There's the possibility that one of the designated All Stars gets sick or drops out for whatever reason and they call up Fox. Personally, I'm not losing sleep over it either way. If Fox gets mad about the snub and brings it every game for the rest of the season it could be a good thing for the team. He's going to get plenty of down time during the All Star break, so that's a good thing.

I'm saying PG's rep. Because a) he's been there and b) he's in LA they just ignored the fact he's missed a third of the season. Takes nights off for rest. That should be disqualifying even if the numbers say something or the team loses more when he doesn't play. Hell Fox has played all but 2-3 games and we just lost a very winnable game he missed the same day he was snubbed. And this team has a better record.

I think we saw this long ago with Mitch. He happened to put up an MVP performance in the ASG and iirc he was a fixture in the game after that. Even got the NBA Live cover as a King. If Fox sneaks into the game this year due to Steph's injury or some other injury I bet he puts up numbers if allowed to do so and becomes a perennial all star moving forward.

I agree with you on George and the reasons he got in. Whether Fox should take his place or not, however, is murky, imo.

If the replacements are A Gordon and Edwards and not Fox……..pitchforks and torches
I’d be okay with Ant getting it. Gordon getting the slot when the West roster is already ridiculously light on true guards would be unforgivable though.
