He’s been playing off ball quite a bit this year as well. The big difference is that this coaching staff has actually taught him what to do instead of just having him stand in the corner waiting for the ball back like Luke did.He switched on because he didn't have to play off-ball anymore.

I’m sure we’ll all be lamenting not having the pick in hand to go select Donte Greene Jr. at 25th overall or something when the time comes.Typical Tetsu, underrating how good the current 12 year old basketball player will be for us in 7 years.
Wait... are we not tanking for The Prince, Bronny?I’m sure we’ll all be lamenting not having the pick in hand to go select Donte Greene Jr. at 25th overall or something when the time comes.
Bronny’s eligible in a year and we’ve already promised the Hawks our pick then barring disaster so it looks like we’re gonna have to unload Fox to a team with a 2024 pick.Wait... are we not tanking for The Prince, Bronny?
Soooo we are giving up the chance for The Prince of Akron after we lost the chance to draft The Slovenian Grill-Master?Bronny’s eligible in a year and we’ve already promised the Hawks our pick then barring disaster so it looks like we’re gonna have to unload Fox to a team with a 2024 pick.
DeAaron to Monk "I TOLD YOU we gonna do this!!!"
letting Bol Bol get switched onto De’Aaron Fox literally every possession for minutes in a row is Luke Walton levels of bad coaching.
Love how nonchalant Brown is after such a big shot.
Dude spent the last two decades coaching Lebron, Kobe, and Steph. It’s not his first time witnessing greatness.Love how nonchalant Brown is after such a big shot.
How much confidence does Brown have in DeAaron?
With how well he's played off ball so far this season, one kinda shakes their head at the coaching ineptitude of the past few years. We could have retained hali and made the off ball work well if we had this coaching staff a few years ago.He switched on because he didn't have to play off-ball anymore.
This is a huge point in my mind. I am not trying to relitigate the trade (once again…), but one can only wonder if Hali/Fox could have been salvaged with a competent coaching staff. With how well he's played off ball so far this season, one kinda shakes their head at the coaching ineptitude of the past few years. No it wouldn't. The ball stayed on the perimeter with Hali. It's now going through the post. With how well he's played off ball so far this season, one kinda shakes their head at the coaching ineptitude of the past few years. Exactly this. Neither Fox or Haliburton would be able to reach their full potential playing alongside one another. When Hali had the ball, Fox stood in a corner. When Fox had the ball, Hali stood in a corner. Their on-court chemistry was never there.I'm sure that they could play better together than we saw under Walton but I'm also not convinced there is any way that you can play them together in a way that doesn't ask at least one of them to sacrifice a big part of their game to play together. The fact that we were asking the highest paid player to make the most sacrifices was a huge problem.
One component of that problem was it forced us to move the more affordable player, if you valued them equally or even if you give an edge to Haliburton. And giving up a player on a good contract means it's extremely tough to get fair value unless you dump an undesirable contract on the receiving team, which we were fortunately able to do.

Easy to forget.. but I think everyone would agree that Fox played with a new profound energy and purpose in the game immediately after Hali was traded...
On an unrelated note, I'm amazed by how well the Fox-Sabonis duo fits. Sabonis is just one of those
players that makes everyone better.
Who knows if we'd still end up with Keegan Murray tho. So, im good on the what could have been thing for now. This is a huge point in my mind. I am not trying to relitigate the trade (once again…), but one can only wonder if Hali/Fox could have been salvaged with a competent coaching staff.
I get the feeling that Fox wasn't necessarily frustrated last year specifically with more of an off-ball role, but that the roles and strategy just were not well defined.
