Would be nice to actually bring in someone who has a snowballs chance in hell to help now and down the road....you know, like the Whiteside signing in Miami. This Stockton 10 day is dumb.

He's wasting his time in Reno. Could have a successful and well paying career in Europe. He's not going to be an NBA player, simply too athletically limited. Go overseas and he'll earn a nice living.

Actually I agree and sort of disasgree with you. I agree that he'll probably never make it as an NBA player, but I don't think it has anything to do with his athleticism, unless you consider size as part of that. I know he's listed at 5'11", but he's never looked that tall to me, and more than that, he looks frail by comparison to other players. I saw him play quite a bit at Gonzaga, and he's not a terrible athlete. He's probably as athletic as his Dad. But his Dad was quite a bit bigger and taller than him, plus much stronger. So going full circle, I guess you win. Because at his size, if he were a terrific athlete, he'd probably have a shot. He is fairly skilled. But to be small, and not athletically gifted, usually means no NBA career.

I just watched the last half of the 4th quarter. David's got a nice hop in his step (I hope I'm using that correctly). Effort and bball IQ is probably not an issue with him, but the size difference in this league can't be ignored. Would adding weight help? He is still taller than IT fwiw....

He could play in Europe just off his dad's name alone. He'd also fit in much better there. He's not going to be able to stay on the floor with the quick athletic guards of today's NBA.

Was at the game in LA and we were impressed big time. Two steals were pickpocket quality and I thought he was like a Nasty Gnat on defense. His twisting reverse layup was NBA quality and the 6 assists should have been 10-12 if shots had been made. As John Wooden once said, "It's better to be quick than fast" and DS is quick and seems to have court vision. I think he can fight for a backup role this fall.

If he ever wants to play in the nba, he'll go out in the offseason and put on15-20 pounds of muscle. That's the only way I see him making an impact. If he gets stronger, I think he may have the athleticism to stick. He clearly inherited his father's feel and basketball IQ.

Nobody just puts on 15-20 pounds in an offseason unless they are getting fat. You make it sound so easy. 5 pounds would be a great accomplishment, but 20 is completely unrealistic.

Agreed. Putting on 15-20 lbs of lean muscle is quite difficult. 5 lbs of muscle, while lowering body fat, getting in great shape, and increasing functional strength should be the goal. Strength, not bulk. Big difference.

We need a pg like Stockton as our starting PG. It was against the Lakers, but Stockton was always look to get the ball moving to open teammates.

We have no one capable enough on the Kings roster in giving the ball to Cuz in a great position. I've complained about this all season long with all 3 HCs. Well, I think Stockton can do that now. Stockton is the type of PG that looks to make his teammates better, and that's difficult to find in today's game where everyone is looking for their own.

I think Stockton should get a real shot with the Kings. I'm not advocating that he starts for us but there are a lot of qualities to like about him.

His main issues are not athleticism nor quickness.( I think he has great quickness and instincts.) but they're size and strength. Yesterday he did a very good job on defense. He was quick enough to stay in front of his defender the entire time. They did a few spin moves on him but he was always quick to recover. I think if he gets stronger, he'll have a legit chance in the NBA.

He could do the 15-20 in 2-3 offseasons combined, if he really went at it and made sure that he at least maintained during the season. Got to start somewhere....and 5 this offseason would be nice
