Does anybody else agree the kings should officialy be d cuz's team instead of tyreake????im sick and tired of evans poor choice of shot selection, forcing shots not being clutch, not knowing what games hes gona show up what game hes not..not making the extra pass cause he wants to make the basket...i think cuzins is someone we can always count on now and if he new the team was his he would deff step up his game i think cuz should be the last player introduced when we have home games...evans is slowly loosing it what do you people think i mean comon lets be real whens the last time evans hit a clutch jump shot or anytype of shot???id rather kno the kings as cuzins team sorry evans ur just unpredictable....

u agree??? we need evans to kno that 2 so maybe he can workout hader practise harder or whatever it is he has to do...it seems like hes to comftrable knowing this is his team he does so many stupid mistakes im sick and tired of the same evans no show he looks like a big ? mark on the floor at times

im not a evans hater i just hate not knowing what games hes gona show up and what games hes not...he shows up 1 outa 4 games and when he does everyones happy and feels good about him but be realistic hes not reliable....u never no what your getting outa him.you can atleast see it in cousins that he wants the ball in crunch time can u see that in evans?anytime evans does a mistake he has that my bad face going he makes so many mistakes its ridiculous..now am i a hater?

Cousins had a mediocre game tonight yet put up stats and essentially had the game winner. My feeling about Cuz is that we are only beginning to see his abilities and that with Tyreke, we have deluded ourselves into thinking that he would be far more than he is. I'm not saying Tyreke is bad but I sure don't see him as leading us to any promised land. Cuz on the other hand may be the man.

Evans haters are going to be out in full force tonight

Yep. And it's gotten to the point where I'm not even going to try and reason with them. It wouldn't do any good anyway. I just don't understand the need to bash our own players, with the possible and eternal exception of John Salmons.

I am in NO WAY Evans hater but bloody hell, he deserves all the criticism tonight. That was just plain retarded! Really was! But you are right people will say he is dumb, unpredictable, inconsistent etc....

He played a really bad game and just flat our ****ed it up at the end with a brain freeze. He is certainly no dumber than Cousins, Thornton et al but his mistakes seem to be more noticeable because the expectations are extremely high.

That was essentially the same play as the end of the game against the Wizards his rookie year. He just got called for it this time

does anyone think that Demarcus's last name is spelled Cousins?

T E A M! Means 5 players at all times. Plenty of room for Cousins and Evans and three other guys. One could make the point that Thornton who made 21 points might have made more poor moves than Evans. Whether that is true or not, Thornton was the one I was cursing tonight. Thomas had a nice game. Maybe in a week it'll be "Thomas's Team". I don't believe in giving the team to anyone until he can play and win with four others. We are not quite there yet.

Not quite! This time he was next to Irving and reaching in from Irving's side. Against Arenas he was right in front of him and when Gilbert tried to cross over, Tyreke picked his pocket. Much better defensive positioning against Arenas than in this case against Irving. In 99 times out of 100 this one you get called for because you are reaching in from the side of the player that has the possesion. This was just a dumb mistake for which he will no doubt cop a lot from some fans.

Soon enough, it'll be JJ's team. Or not.

ok so the kings were never chris webbers team back then i suppose

They were really more Vlade's team than anything else

are u serious lmao are u really going to say that???outside arco i remember seeing c webbs house banners not vlades house so are u serious???? when u hear lakers who do u think of kobe?when u hear bulls who do u think of?when u hear thunder who do u think of?

Greater name recognition among fans does not equal being in charge of a team.

Reality check: Those guys were a TEAM. When Vlade's jersey was retired, he thanked Webber profusely. When Webb's jersey went into the rafters, he said Vlade made him a much better player. And yes, I was there in person at both ceremonies and heard the comments myself.

It's unacceptable to try and make it Vlade vs. Webber IMHO. You belittle both of them when you do it.

Tyreke doesn't realize that he's NOT a shooter.

I realized he does a far better job when he receives a pass as a spot up shooter. But, when he does his stupid kobe impressions of dribble, dribble pull up fallback shot, I cringe every time.

It's one thing to be a shooter and keep on shooting, but he needs to understand that he doesn't have that ability.

I love Reke, but if only he would be cognitive of his abilities and adjust to what defenders throw at him, he would be far better off.
Instead of bulldozing his body into defenders, stop at the key and PASS.

Or, develop a floater. My oh my, how much a floater would do wonders to his game.
Don't take contested jumpshots, but rather become a spot up shooter, which you are far more effective to a degree than off the dribble jumpshots.

He also needs to pass on the break from time to time. Misses way too many layups thinking he can do it all by himself.

Sure, he's young, but for christ's sake, he's committing the same mistakes since his rookie year.

Reading this post I am not sure you have watched a single Kings game this year. Seriously. Its like a scouting report from 2 years ago.

Your defense of Tyreke borders on the homerism, to be honest.

He still shoots ill advised J's. He still can't shoot. Far better spot up shooter. Doesn't have a floater. Still rarely passes on the break. Misses many fastbreak layups due to the failure to pass.

If you think I wrote a scouting report from 2 years ago, then you admit that he has regressed from his rookie year. Pick one, you can't have both.

You know, I watch every game and every play, and off the top of my head I can recall maybe once he's done that all season. In fact Reke is EASILY the one of our big three who has tried the hardest to fit in this season. From the start when Westphal had him swinging the ball as soon as he touched it, to his rising assit totals under Smart as he began to use his drive to set people up. Those of us actually watching the games and analyizing what's happening, rather than deciding what's happening and then watching the game for confirmation, have seen considerable shifts.

the floater remains a bit of a strawman. Be nice to have. Very few guys who are great to the hoop have them, and vice versa. Its a tough shot, and one you develop on the court growing up when you are not able to get all the way to the hoop.

The jumper issues are well knock. Standstill form looks good. For those who understand who these things work, that means probably nothing more than time and repeitution neeee to make it respectable. Off the dribble the same disciplined form is hard to acheive. Smart is working with him. Its not a short term project.

And no, I am the guy who wrote a scouting report on him after his rookie season, and after his second season, and will after his third as well. I take analysis rather than hyperbole and whining rather seriously you see.

the thread is about this team becoming Cousins' team rather than Tyreke's.

So yes, to answer your question, we are going to talk about Tyreke just as much as Cousins.

Okay, if that actually manifests, I'm going to lock it. Just saying ahead of time. We can certainly have a the team should be Cousins' thread, premature as it might be to call it anybody's team at this stage. But we aren't going to have a 10th Reke sucks thread hiding out in sheep's clothing.

It's unfortunate that you see any Reke criticism thread as subversive.

I understand that he's a golden child for some, but criticism doesn't exactly mean fans (at least the majority) want to dump him for a bag of chips ala salmons.
