I would guess Sean asked him about DeMarcus's chance, and that's the answer he gave.. pretty straightforward I thought tbh

I think Colangelo is saying that whatever slim chance he might have had, was negated by the scrimmage showing. Could be wrong though, the tweet looks like it's been written by a monkey.
As for Cuz, I wouldn't swap him for anyone. Love his tenacity and competitive spirit. Maybe he was over-zealous during the scrimmage and it hurt him or made him play bad, but there's no doubt that he'll use it as motivation.

There's another side to that as well. If we don't extend Reke and aren't a playoff team on the way up within two years, those same guys we'd like Cuz to recruit will be recruiting him to play elsewhere, where owners actually are willing to put together a balanced roster, hire a good coach and invest in winning.
That scares me. Other guys will want Cuz on their team and with this camp along with future All Star appearances and World Championships in 2014, there wil be ample opportunity for others to tell him to get out of here if we don't improve as far as wins, quickly. Nothing else really matter going forward other than improving the win/loss record and getting close to 40 wins next year and being in playoff consideration late in the season. Improved passing and exciting ROY candidates are simply not important going forward. It's win, or possibly lose our two foundational pieces.

I consider this 'other side" the far more likely scenario. I don't want Boogie talking to anyone. Ever. One good thing about him not making the Olympics is that maybe he won't be infected by a locker room full of whatever LeBron and Dwight and CP3 etc. have.

So do I, and that's why it scares me. Cuz seems to be his own man, but after he blows up nationally in the next year or two, he'll be a hot commodity, if not the most sought after big out there. If we don't start winning and playing playoff basketball before then the chances sky rocket he leaves.

He obviously caused a stir in the scrimmage. Iggy's got a headache. Kobe says the team needs more of this, Carmelo says he fouled everybody, and Colangelo indicates his performance wasn't olympian-like. I'm guessing it was spirited, sloppy, and bordering on unsportsmanlike. The guy is the least boring player in the league.

Maybe Cousins is getting something out of this ande maybe Team USA is getting something out of having him there. International ball is not for the faint of heart. I think Colangelo sees the future though.

If nothing else, Boogie is making an impression on some of the other players, physically in some cases, and that will help his image around the league. All in all, its a great experience for him. I suspect that the olympic committee has already made up its mind about whose going to be on the team, so Cuz would have had to completely blown their socks off to get a berth.

Well, we pretty much knew that was going to happen. But I hope that the USA coaching staff has a pulse on what kind of lineups the rest of the Olympic hopefuls are going to field, because we're going pretty small here - a whole one player over 6'10".
Our legitimate big men are Chandler, Griffin, and Love. That's it. LeBron and Carmelo are almost certain to be asked to play quite a bit of PF.
Ya, I don't think anyone thought he would make the Olympic team this year. He is just there to practice vs the guys who were in the running. I get the impression that the feeling is DeMarcus is the guy who players hate playing against (or practicing against) because he is so physical, but absolutely love to have on your team.
edit: Carmelo's quote on "fouling the **** out of everbody" is put into context in the video. It made a lot more sense to me than when just reading the quote where it felt kind of negative.

Did you watch the videos at http://www.sacandco.net/news/article/200153/2/Cousins-makes-most-of-Team-USA-experience ? Taking one line from these guys and posting it on twitter really makes it impossible to see the point people are trying to make when they say things like this.

Still think he will likely be our center(Team USA) in the 2016 Olympics. Maybe he gets on the World Championships squad in two years. But I also don't think he's ready maturity wise in USA Basketball's point of view to represent our country on an international level and Colangelo's quote kind of hints at that.
That really isn't a bad thing as he is maturing and is still very young. He'll grow, continue to mature, round out his game on both ends as the pace of the game slows down for him and will be involved down the road.
Us getting to the playoffs and Cuz showing composure in that environment will be a stepping stone. While we see improvements in his maturity he still has a ways to go and nationally it was only seven months ago that he and Westy had the problems and perception does matter, right or wrong. He's still practicing with the guys though and it's a great experience either way.

Actually a healthy chance he will never be Team USA's center with the push to limit it to 23 and under. Unfair to Cuz's generation of course since they come up at a time when the squads were filled up with old guys, and then the rule comes in and they are instantly TOO old themselves and never have their chance.

Seems they would do that to copy soccer, where the Olympics are an U23 tournament, but soccer allows three overage players. That might be a possibility. We also don't know how quickly this would go into play. But I agree it would be pretty unfair.

Really more of an insult.
Some fair number of people were apparently in Cousins camp this time around and even spoke to Colangelo about it. But you could just feel the disdain from Jerry himself from the start.
For all his rebelliousness in the end I don't think Boogie is as mean as I was about it. The way to play this for me if I had Boogie's talent would be to smash the league, become the #1 center in the world, then wait for Jerry to beg for me to play for him, and humiliate him when he did, daring him to put his ego before country and drop me even though I was clearly the best choice.
