According to various sources, the total current salary is $127,493,625. There are 3 roster spots left that can be used with the bi-annual exemption and 2 minimum salaries or no BAE and 3 minimums. The max salary for the Kings in 2022/3 would be $137,256,327. For reference, this salary would rank as the 12th/13th highest total salary last year. Given the youth of this team and everyone on the same timeline, Monte did a great job with cap management with room to get better this year with potential trades.

Who are your targets for the remaining 2 roster spots? I don’t see anyone left who would command the Bi-Annual and doubt the Kings would use it. My top targets are Andre Iguodala for veteran leadership and on the court coaching, Kessler Edwards for upside and Timothy Luwawu, a decent 3 pt shooter.

If we can bring Sasha over that would be great. I’m unclear on the timetable for those negotiations or if they are ongoing already. I think if you do that you leave the other spots open so you don’t have to waive folks in a trade scenario or you need an emergency signing.

Sasha would be a great fit and likely would command the bi-annual or less. We still need another wing defender though. Luwawa could fit the bill.

It would be nice to get some front court length that could help protect the rim. And I wonder if Barnes is going to be traded due to his contract status. He and Murray would work well on offense together and solid on defense together. But, this team needs a front court disrupter.

Sac has 5 guys in the backcourt ho need minutes with Huerter able to swing to the 3. They need to add some length in the wing.

If I was Monte, I would be looking for a deal where a team wants to dump a contract because they are in rebuild mode where we can send them Holmes or Len and a second.

Instead of just filling out the roster, see if there is one more upgrade out there
