Courtney Alexander ??

I see Courtney is still listed on the Kings roster as of 1/29 as on the IL. But where is he? I had heard he was released or waived. If on the IL what is wrong with him? If not can't we use his offense and defense? Was he not the #7 or #8 guy at the beginning of the season? Did he fall out of favor with someone on the Kings staff??

We released him after he couldn't get off the IL because of his foot. Mo Evans has filled in the spot Courtney was supposed to fill nicely.

So he is still on the IL because he can't get off it to get released? Then what is his injury and how bad is it? There has been no word from any direction. And a number of others say he is better offense than any of current bench and has what 4-5 years experience. Still curious.

Well if he's still on the roster we would have had to guarantee the rest of his contract this year.

Since your the resident mouth pice I will defer to you on this, but I think that it is possible to waive an injured player yet retain an option on his contract. This would enable the Kings to waive Alexander as long as he can't play but should he get healthy they would have first option on his contract.

I have absolutely no idea there. Never heard of that rule. Do have a copy of the CBA around + maybe I'll glance at it tonight if I get a chance. probably be easier just to send an e-mail to the Kings and ask 'em.
