[NBA] Comments that don't warrant a thread (MAR)

Never mind. He’s still in. The Wizards intentionally foul his teammate to keep him from passing Kobe lmfao

Now that I think about it, it reminds me of the night that A'ja tied the W record: Atlanta let her get within, like, 5 points of the record before they started triple-teaming her 94 feet. Like, why did you wait until five minutes left in the game to start playing defense?

I can’t believe some fans fall for this manufactured BS.

All anyone needs to understand is that Bam Adebayo — yes, Bam Adebayo — attempted more free throws in this game than arguably the two most physically gifted and dominant big men to ever play, Wilt Chamberlain and Shaquille O’Neal, ever did (both of whom were routinely fouled intentionally throughout many games hoping they’d miss both free throws).

He even shot more than TWICE as many FTA than Kobe Bryant received in his 81 point game.

I guess Bam’s 6-9, 250 pound frame and 16 ppg game career scoring average was just too much to handle. 🙄

With the NBA having already gifted Austin Reaves an unwarranted amount of free throws to get him past 50 points and now doubling that number to get the dime a dozen player Adebayo past 81 — it’s only a matter of time before they pick some other player to surpass Wilt’s 100 with something like 50 or 60 free throw attempts.

The NBA is in dire need of media attention, apparently.

FWIW, I have nothing against Adebayo at all. I just can’t stand this type of manufactured record. Same thing happened in the 1990’s when the Spurs went out of their way to get David Robinson the scoring title on the last game of the regular season (he scored 70).

It’s an absolute joke.

I mean, Wilt's 100 point game was a joke too. 32 free throw attempts is still too many, and even with the intentional fouling, the Warriors shot 115 field goals in 48 minutes. (Bam's team only managed to shoot 90, even in today's "super fast-paced" era)

I just saw the video from the Timberwolves/lakers game that someone posted to BlueSky. Lawrence Tanter calling it a "melancholy footnote" is sending me!

Amick really thought he cooked with his “Bam should’ve taken himself out of the game before he tied him” take about a game he admits to not watching in his article take, didn’t he?

What's funny is his last article was telling us how we should appreciate Shai getting close to breaking Wilt's record that previously thought unattainable.

I know I’m a weirdo because I truly prefer regular season NBA games over like 99% of other sports. I don’t know how I ended up like this.
