I know the game isn't over yet that will decide whether Atlanta or Miami meets the Cavaliers, but I cannot even begin to imagine a scenario where Miami all of a sudden finds a way to overcome a 20 pt. deficit with 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter...

If the impossible happens, I'll change the title. In the meantime, I think LoungeLizard may have summarized this entire upcoming series with his comment in the ATL/MIA thread:

The Cavaliers are going to destroy the Hawks next round.

I'm expecting Atlanta to surprise Cleveland by taking 1 game in Atlanta. They are pretty pumped right now, and Cleveland breezed through their 1st round. Cleveland in 5.

game 1 will be in cleveland and lebron will destroy them... wallace and big z have had a week to rest. the cavs will take game 1.

This would not surprise me at all. In fact, I think the Cavs will take both games 1 and 2 (in Cleveland). Atlanta will surprise the Cavs by taking either game 3 or game 4 (played in Atlanta). Cleveland will wrap it up when they head back to Cleveland for game 5.

That's my story and I'm sticking with it. :p

Atlanta plays pretty good at home and their fans have been pretty good in the playoffs (last year vs. Celts and this year vs. Heat) I won't be surprised at 4-0 Cavs, but my money is on 4-1.

Atlanta creates matchup problems for Cleveland; if Marvin Williams can play, the series will go seven. If not... Cleveland in five.

i couldnt see williams giving them any problems... the issue would be smith being guarded by wallace, varaejo or hickson... but that matchup is the closest to would they will get from lakers. can the cavs hang with an athletic pf and energetic role players that can shoot the 3 pt shot. oh my god i sound like doug collins....

i think the cavs will take it in 5 if not a sweep. if the cavs win games 1 and 2 then take game 3 in atl it will end in a sweep. lebron is the best player in basketball, he'll find a way to win. i hope that they blow them out early and give the bench a chance to play. because the cavs will need their bench if they make it to the finals. wally, hickson, smith, varaejo and gibson will be needed big time to beat the lakers if both teams make it to the finals.

marvin Williams will not make this series go 7. I'm sorry but that's pretty ridiculous. Cle in 5 regardless of who the hawks have playing.

Wow, LeBron is having to play the Hawks 1 on 5. And he's winning. But his teammates have almost universally been godawful.

This is the kind of thing I'm afraid of if the Cavs reach the Finals and have to play a team like LA. The Hawks may lose 5-on-1 but a team like the Lakers, unfortunately, won't.

As incredible as is sounds - Bibby has actually gotten worse on defense despite never really playing any.

Sorry, but that's ridiculous. Marvin Williams doesn't equal 2 more wins over the best team in the league. You could argue that him returning also strengthens their bench etc etc, but even so...He isn't that much of a difference maker.

Hawks win game 3, but Cavs in 5

The Hawks offensive system is absolutely horrible. I fthey were in the West they wouldn't have made the playoffs.

I haven't watched any of this series and by the sound of it, it seems I'm not missing too much.

Why are they even playing it? 3 of Atlanta's main guys are injured, and even if they were healthy I doubt they'd win more than one game.

I think Atlanta may give them some sort of push at home, but Cleveland is just too dominant. I think they are too dominant for anyone in the East, to be honest.

Ok these refs are really starting to get on my nerves. No way should Pachulia have been tossed for that. Technical maybe, but not 2

lebron is the man 47 points 12 rebounds 8 assists

Lebron James is THE MAN. It's clear the Cavs are on a mission. They're getting better each and every game, especially with team communication and good old-fashioned fundamental basketball. If the LA Kobes do end up making it to the finals, the brave little soldier is gonna have his hands full trying to keep Lebron from getting the NBA Finals MVP to go with his league award...
