Chris Duarte to Kings

As mentioned in another thread, Duarte had an outstanding performance last night against Greece, but that wasn't enough since they were demolished, losing 82-109 and will face in the semifinal the 1st team of the other group (Croatia, New Zealand or Slovenia). In some basketball Greek forums people were impressed with him and wrote that if Duarte had been available last year in the World Cup, it's quite possible that Dominican Republic would have qualified directly to the Olympics not having to get through the qualifying groups. But now just with him available from NBA players it will require a miracle for them to travel to Paris.
Duarte had 26pts, 7/11 FG (5/8 3PT) IN 35', none of his teammates scored more than 12. For Greece Giannis was unstoppable, scoring 32 points with 10/10 field goals in just 18 minutes.

He looks healthy and confident.
Basketball isn’t vastly different from other sports, such as baseball, tennis, and golf. In those sports you often see players get into funks and their confidence suffers because of it. Sometimes it can be very difficult to rebound.

How many times have we seen a player play for the KINGS and stink it up the go elsewhere and really tear it up?

Sometimes it’s situational and how they are used. But it also can be about a players confidence and/or health.

A recent example is Donte DiVincenzo. He wasn’t good for the KINGS. Part of it was injuries, the other part was confidence. He goes to Golden State and not much changed. But this past season in NY he looked like the player the KINGS thought he would be for them.

Duarte could be another Donte D.

Like Donte, we know from his tenure with the team that drafted him that Chris can play. The problem since is also similar to Donte D. Injuries and confidence. If Chris is healthy, perhaps he can gain back his confidence and play like he did his rookie season.

Duarte is a good guy. I am definetly rooting for him. I just am a bit down on him not returning to form with Sabonis. I would have thought he would have clicked right away.

Still can’t open
nvm lol
Duarte missed a highly contested from 2 players 3 point shot that would have sent the match to overtime vs Croatia in the "semifinal" so Dominican Republic won't qualify for the Olympics. Would have to beat Greece tomorrow in the final as well and that wouldn't happen either, they got demolished in the group stage.

Overall Duarte had a nice tournament and was almost the top scorer in every single match, same thing at the friendlies before that. It would be interesting to see if he will be better the upcoming season in case he is not included in a trade package of course.
