You never cease to amaze me.
Who wants to bother with the 11th best player in the league? You don't see David Letterman reading off a Top Eleven List, do you?

You never cease to amaze me.
Bass, Darko and Wilcox get Limited minutes. Bosh gets 40 minutes...and he does dominate sometimes. As for signing lesser talent and saving money...like poker...you are going to have to gamble sooner or later. to even attempt to aquire Bosh would be a gamble, and the odds don't look to good. He eats up cap, and has nothing prime about his game other then his size. Bass would be picked 88th, Darko 89th, and Wilcox 90th. Bosh goes at 11-15.Maybe 10th
Lebron
Kobe
KG
Pierce
Ming
Durant
Amare
Gasol
Melo
Wade
Nash
Dirk
Shaq
BOSH

One final note. Even if Thompson is averaging 20 and 10, and Hawes is averaging 15 and 9 (wishful thinking) and you can get Bosh to come here, I say you go and get him. What a three man rotation that would be. I have to stop. I'm getting giddy.![]()
Hawes doesn't need to do much, and he will get 40 million/6yrs offer sometime in the future. If he performs well enough to put Sacramento in the playoff race, the sky is the limit. Hawes probably knows that this year will make or break his future on this team. With SAR looking at limited minutes, and Miller's game slowly translating away from the ideal, and two rookie fowards; to me, it looks like Hawes will need to step up or be shipped out. If Thompson has just an inkling of talent and muscles Hawes out of the starting lineup, then things don't look so good. Hawes has alot of upside, and if he shows off his moves against premiere centers and wins the matchup, its going to get interesting. But for now, hes still in his very early 20's, and it is going to be unfair to expect more from him, than from Thompson(24). But, that is the way things are, not fair. And Hawes has had his year off as a rookie. Now its time for him to show Sac. that he is the starting star center for this team. If he doesn't, Mikki/Miller, im sure will fair fine. But Hawes/Thomson just seems like an experiment worth trying.

If there is one thing I have learned watching the NBA the past 30 yrs or so, it's that you don't rush the development of a center. I have seen way too many players given up on after 2 - 3 years, only to see them become star players at the center position. Hawes is entering his 2nd season, after playing his first season with a bad knee for the first half. Obviously, I want him to have a break out year. However, a solid season with marked improvement is what I expect.Hawes probably knows that this year will make or break his future on this team. Considering they play different positions, I kinda doubt that will happen....
If you haven't noticed...
The NBA is changing styles again...
PF is C and C is PF...
Finkle is Einhorn
That's going to be one pricey three-man rotation. If our guys are putting up those numbers, they're going to get deals similar to Amare and Bogut, and throw in a max deal to lure away Bosh and we'll have to fill the rest of the roster with D-Leaguers.![]()
Seriously, never.
But all it takes is one team to win a champioship without a traditional center, and all bets are off, small ball to wall.

Just because Hawes says he's a center, doesn't mean he is one. And just because you think Hunter S. Thompson is a PF doesn't mean he is one either. As a matter of opinion, I think Hunters thompson is a C/PF and Hawes is a PF/C.
Hawes is 6-11. I hope we can agree on that. His skill set is as follows; decent dribbler, and crafty bigman. Im not sure about his passing, so ill reserve my judgement on that skill for later. Either way, he reminds me of Chris Webber(PF). Jason is just a great rebounder, and rebounding is a fundamental skill needed to play C. I hope that explains my reasoning.
There comes a point in every man's life when he realises that arguing with certain people is just pointless and at times serves only to degrade your intelligence...
I have been known to use the quote "Never argue with an idiot, they will just drag you down to their level and beat you from experience".
Sweet catch phrazes. Pozers for psych mayors, shrinking me, like i need it. and i do. To comment on Hawes some more, i do not agree he is 7ft. I'll admitt he might say he is, but we all know that NBA players over state their height 60% of the time. And we all know its not how big you actually are, but how big you play....WHO do you think plays bigger, Thompson vs. hawes

I DARE you to make less sense.
Wishful thinking.
It would really be nice to have Bosh in our team. It will give us a solid PF while we wait for Jason Thompson to develop and mature.
I think a solid PF is the only player that is missing in this rebuilding team.
We are pretty much set at #1 with decent PG's on Udrih, Bjax, and BBrown. To me these players are more than enough to compensate for the loss of Bibby.
We are solid on #2 on Martin, especially with a decent back-up in the name of Garcia and Salmons.
I also believe we are pretty much set on #3. At 6' 10" , Greene is a very promising SF - especially that he is very mobile/atheletic and can shoot the treys. He reminds me of Peja and Hedo.
We are also pretty much set at #5 with Miller ( a potential double-double every night with some bonus on assists ) and the youthful Hawes who have shown a lot of promise last season.
Now, if we could just have a reliable PF franchise player who can bring in a double-double ( game-after-game ), and who can give the Kings the needed confidence and identity, I think we could talk about play-offs next season, and Championship in 2-3 years.
I am usually the one with ambiguous posts. I am just going to assume that you don't agree that centers and power fowards are one and the same. I think they are, because small ball is being played by 1/3 of the NBA. For every Kaman, Dalambert, and Shaq there is KG, Ben Wallace, and....CHRIS BOSH. All 6 aformentioned players play......CENTER. Albeit, not all the time. But, in the NBA, it is a special player who plays multiple positions. And those players are going to be the target of NBA teams in the future. Lebron could play all 5 postions, and I honestly beleive he should. So. along that line of though, the center position is being marginalized by players like Lebron who can make the game look easy from any position. I agree, that history indicates winning a championship requires a real presence down low(SHAQ, DUNCAN, KG, RASHEED). But all it takes is one team to win a champioship without a traditional center, and all bets are off, small ball to wall.
