With Melo on his way out Denver is heading into rebuild mode. Billups has one year left on his contract with a team option for next year, meaning Denver could either let his contract expire or trade it to another team to pick up the option.

Lots of people (including myself) think that this team needs veteran leadership to help the young guys learn how to win. Chauncy is a proven winner and could teach Tyreke a lot. He could also be a great influence on Cousins, getting him to focus more on winning.

I'd be willing to give up Greene and maybe some 2nd rounders or lotto-protected first rounders to get him. What Denver wants in return would probably depend on what other teams are willing to give for him (since he's an expiring anyways).

Thoughts?

i dont think theres a single person on here who wouldnt want Chauncy. Personally i would be against sending Donte for him though

Billups said over the summer that he didn't want to be part of a rebuilding project in Denver (if Carmelo leaves) so he certainly wouldn't want to spend the last 3 years of his career here investing in the development of a team he wouldn't be able to be a part of when they are contending.

Nothing wrong with getting a vet for leadership, but Billups is really really old. I wouldn't want Nash or Kidd here either. Let them go chase rings and have some fun for the last few years they play. They won't be happy here.

I cannot imagine who will say no to Chauncy. He is a very best player & I like him. So does everyone, I suppose. The only problem is, will Chauncy love to be in Sacramento to spend his last years in a rebuilding team? I doubt it.
