Ch. 40 sports heads up

The teammates chuckling in the background is a good sign to me. That means they knew what was up, and thought it was funny that Artest was just leaving the guy hanging with the questions.

That shows a US against the media attitutude. They were laughing. It was like they were all out somewhere an Artest just made Sean Thomas look stupid in front of his gf.

I think so too. Having fun in the locker room is a good sign.

Anyway, like Motaman said, Artest already said so many times before that he wants to stay in Sac. He even had that good interview where he said all the right things (the one where Brick said "shut up and play"). What more do we want? He says something bad, it's "tick tick tick". He says something good it's "shut up and play." He says NOTHING, and it's some deeper meaning. He can't win.

...
No matter what Artest might have said, someone would have thought of a way to take it and twist it to whatever suited their purpose. The Marc Stein interpretation of Artest's emails is a perfect case in point. Sometimes saying absolutely nothing is the only way to make sure your words aren't used against you, and even then it's not a guarantee.

...

Well said.

Here's what happen's if he speaks.

True quote: "Absolutly not...I do not want out of Sacramento...We are going to the playoffs, and me and Mike are going to lead the team to big things...These rumors are deinatly not true."

LA Times says:

Artest on if he wants out of Sacto: "Absolutly..." Ron Artest goes on to say, "I do ... want out of Sacramento. ... These rumors are definatly ... true."

Ron is definitely catching on the the media. This scenario seems to be a twist to the old question: (Reporter to Ron)..."have you stopped beating your wife yet?" Any answer confirms that you are a wife beater...lol. The team looked a lot more together last night, for whatever that's worth against the lowly 76ers. Nice to see a win, no matter what.

You will all have better luck reading tea leaves or a Ouija board than trying to figure this one out.

Ehh, its not that complicated really. (IMO): The Artest camp, which includes his agent or friends or whatever, needs to make himself still look like a viable player that a franchise would risk a big long-term contract on. So if you tiptoe up to the line and dance on it a little but then back off and say all the right things, you can get traded to LA without all the fans (and media) deserting you. Just some, like me. :)

haha lol nicely done

I agreee with Brick too. Ron can only improve his position by keeping his mouth shut.

He was on the Carmicheal Dave show for a long interview before his album dropped. He knew how to handle questions about David Stern and the arena honestly, without getting himself into trouble. His "jokes" have cost him millions of dollars, and he must know it well enough by now.

I can't believe Ron is excited about going to the Clips unless the team chemistry is really that bad.

If Bibby leaves and Corliss and Pot coming off the books this year, we have up to 20 million to bring in the big we need (KG? haha) . KM + Artest + "the big" + the rest has some potential, and the Maloofs care enough to want to make it happen. Artest has to understand that.

Cunningham did his job asking a tough question and Artest did his by ignoring it.... Theres NOTHING more to this molehill. Theres no need to make a mountain out of it.
