Celtics-Kings Trade

Perkin/Scalabrine for Nocioni

Works on realgm:

For Boston:
I think they already have an excess of big men with Garnett, Wallace, Sweetney, Williams, and Davis. Perkins' departure will put Wallace and KG both as starters which really isn't a bad thing at all. Nocioni will be a good 6th man on the team being able to sub the PF/SF.

For Sacramento:
We'll get a young and legit C who will be a good compliment to Hawes and Thompson. Scalabrine is an ender which will improve the Kings FA status for this summer. SF is our deepest position and I think this makes Nocioni a bit expendable.

Hope this is why Ely was waived. :)

Perkins is a key roleplayer for them -- given that they are sitting over there talking (foolishly) about beating the Bulls 72-10 record, don't think they are going to be eager to give up any of their core personnel to add a cherry on top.

remember at the deadline last seaosn there was some talk about us trying to swing Noc to Boston rather than take him ourselves, but it did not happen. Don't remember whether there was actually interest there from the C's or whether we as fans just thought there should be (I continue to do so). Tony Allen is out of favor over there, you could get him maybe, unless Boston wants him as an ender.

Pretty sure that it was a case of Boston wanting to take Noc off our hands but the Kings wanted to keep him.

I still believe that if Noc can have a decent season, he is a very good chance to get traded to a contender at the deadline. If we cannot pull that off then I think we are screwed with his contract.

I think it was Boston with interest on Noci but Petrie did not give him for whatever offer they had.

With Wallace around I think having Noci is much better than keeping Perkins. Nocioni can easily backup SF/PF which they don't really have a good depth, especially at SF.

No way Boston does this deal. Perkins is so important to that team .. It might not look like it on the surface because of the four potential HOFers, but he means a ton to them. Top 10 defensive big in the league, and hes young .. The celts could use Noc, but they would only send us enders in return.
