Can Somebody Please tell Artest.....

I sincerely doubt he'd shoot over 50%. That is EXTREMELY doubtful.

He might shoot higher 40% like 46-47%, but over 50%? Nah. He just doesn't have the talent and he's not big enough to score in the paint once a team adjusts.

Artest isn't a great dribbler nor does he see the floor well. He doesn't possess some brevy of post moves either. Hard to shoot over 50% when you're a volume shooter and don't have the ability to create separation and create your own looks.

Smaller guys just can't guard him inside. He can score on PFs like that. Really from what I've seen from Ron he is a good dribbler. I think he has great handles. And he can get space, he has a nice fade away J in the post. I've seen him display good court vision. I don't know what Ron you've been watching when he goes in the paint.

Do not understand. He has an excellent handle and sees the floor quite well
Artest?

Good god no. He's got sub-par dribbling skills. He puts his head down when he dribbles and bulls it forward.

He's not fluid at all. There's herky motions in his moves.

He's good. There's no question. But his cap isn't that high offensively.

He has his way with smaller guys, I'll give you that. But, that can be nullified quickly and easily. A simple double on Artest would cause problems because he isn't tall enough to score over it nor see out of it.

One on one he's a load, but he doesn't have a plethora of moves. He's more like Zach Randolph than KG, in that he doesn't up-fake, drop step, spin or anything... it's more of a push you under the rim and go up with it.

He's a very good dribbler in the open court, but in traffic he's not so great. Mainly because he's so powerful and using his body so much that finesse dribbling is gone. Might be being hard on the guy.

Getting space? Nah. Doesn't do it very often. Which is why he shoots a low percentage. He just goes up. A good player to compare him to is KMoney. Look at the space KMoney gets on his jumper and the space Artest gets. It's not even comparable.

Artest has been lobbing up those outside threes for too long now. I agree that he is more effective when he uses his strength to get to the rim. I would love to see more of him crashing through the lane and then kicking it out to K$ or Bibby.

As far as lack of finesse, I would have to agree, not Ron's strong suit. His offense would be way better if it were.

As far as the offense goes I think it is fine. We miss like 10-15 WIDE open shots a night. The shots will start falling and thing will come together offensively. I am much more worried about interior D now with Brad out. I never knew how much he did until he was out in the second half the other night.

Is it that Brad "does so much" or our PFs "do so little"?

Personally, I think it was one game and it got taken to us. We ran the KT/SAR offense up front plenty last year and we were effective. I just think Bogut had a good quarter. It happens.

Maybe he's finally getting it....

Look at tonights game against Minnesota for example. He's driving to the hoop and getting and 1 chances. There aren't too many guards or forwards that can guard him in this league so most of the time they will have to foul to stop him in the post or on the drive. I myself like others that have posted don't mind shots taken within the context of the offense but when you just come down and start jacking up shots for no apparent reason I have a problem with that.

In all fairness, the quote you're referring to was made some time ago.

Ron Artest is our second option on offense. He's going to take shots.
Sorry for butting in but Artest I think should give way to Kevin in fact I thnk kevin should be our number one option. I really like this kid. he reminds me of Rip Hamilton.

Well, I think we all noticed this last year and tried to stay positive. Some of us still want to think Ron will be great on offense. I'm not seeing it, he's not awful but if he's going to put up volume shots, 40% shooting will ensue.

To me it seems like Artest's "natural" game is more rodman-like. Which makes little sense once I write it, but I meant to say that he's at his best when he's just out there hustling and scrapping and if a shot falls in his hands, take it. I.E. not forcing shots or even caring about taking shots. He's like a (super) roleplayer, not a scorer.

I also think he knows this, but has agents and friends in his ear all the time telling him to score more. I think he'd like to sign a nice fat contract, and the simple logic is that in the NBA the scorers get paid more than the glue guys. His agent wants to be able to say look here, ron scores 25 a game just like ray allen, max me maloof!
