Bulletin Board Material, 2023 Season

#91
Can someone explain why Kuminga played so much? He was awful in the stretches I watched.
They’re trying to build their next Giannis with him (lengthy, strong, and athletic slashing forward). I think they’re internally high on him and he oozes a lot of untapped potential. He played amazing in the preseason and averaged over 20ppg.

Put him on a lotto team without championship aspirations, and I think he’d easily average around 18pts/7rebs/4asts on solid shooting splits.

But he does have some big faults. Lower bball IQ and plays like a wrecking ball.

I see the potential in him, but he is extremely raw right now. Let's be honest, the only reason he scored a lot of points in the preseason was that he lived at the FT line. Personally, I think he could learn more in the G league.

Based on the Twolves beating the Warriors in the tournament game....and the Kings losing to them twice and still going to play in the tourney. Odds will continue to be against, until they prove they can beat the Warriors

Even so... 80% against seems pretty extreme. The Warriors beat us by 1 point in that last matchup.

We have to play Minny and the Warriors. Minny gets to host us and has an easier match up against OKC. If we can beat Minny on the road the odds will change drastically. Gotta get it done.

Minnesota seemed to have our number last year and they weren't playing remotely as well as they are now. That matchup scares me, I see no slander or disrespect. Best thing that can happen (besides winning that game) is blowing the Dubs the F out.

Wait... isn't this the Bulletin Board Material thread? We're tied with Minnesota for the lead in the In-Season tournament right now (and we have the tie-breaker in our favor so far) yet we've been given less than a 20% chance of winning our group by ESPN's number crunchers. Isn't the whole point of the bulletin board to circle this ish in red pen before the next game and tell the guys no one believes in them so they come out extra hungry? Am I just doing this wrong or something?

As for beating GS .. I sure hope the guys don't need any extra motivation for that game at this point. The Warriors have done just about everything short of pantsing us in the hallway over the past 8 months.

I never questioned whether it qualified as bulletin board material, just whether or not the blame was being pointed in the right place. When ESPN posts betting odds on games, they aren't providing those lines themselves; they get them from some sportsbook or other. The image you posted left out the part where it said that ESPN was basing those projections on their own analytics.

Yeah, I get that. I didn't show my sources...

It's more @Capt. Factorial and @pdxKingsFan peeing in my Wheaties that I was responding to. C'mon guys, I don't want to hear why Minnesota deserves respect. You picking the Ant-Man over the Fox? You picking the Great Pretender over Mr. Triple Double? You picking the Stifle Tower over, well.. whatever JaVale McGee's nickname is? No sir! King Kong ain't got nothing on KINGS!

Lou Will is of course an expert on winning
I mean...

In terms of how he framed it, at any rate. He even stipulated that the team was good, and that anybody who got traded there would probably fall in love with the fans, just that he doesn't foresee any hot free agents making their decision on where to play just based off of winning. Now, in the interest of full disclosure, it has to be acknowledged that Lou Williams is on James Harden Time™, so that's the lens through which he's viewing any potential free agent destinations.

Yup - if you are into “that life” - Sac ain’t for you. If you want to win basketball games, it’s a totally fine place to be.

Also - I think it’s different for players with families.

I've made no bones about my overall opinion on Minny as a franchise but they had our number last year and I will just be cautiously optimistic until proven otherwise. I didn't assume they would be our primary threat in the draw when it came out.

There's a number of cities that are really great places if you don't have to be in LA or NY, especially if you like the outdoors.

The one thing that scares me about Fox though is he has complained a lot about CA taxes on twitter. Hopefully Recee can be a voice of reason if he gets any dumb ideas.
