Brad Miller.....

TheJoker

Bench
There has not been that much talk about Brad, only USA Basketball related but i wanna know what people think about him and what to expect from him this year? i really hope he motivates himself after his horrible playoff performance. we need Brad just as much as we need Ron and Bibby and KT and all the others to step-up.

My opinion of Brad hasn't changed. He is still one of the best C in the league. He is not your traditional C but he is a good one nonetheless.

Brad Miller

We went to the USA game in Vegas in August. Brad has lost some weight, ran the court better than last year and looked in great shape so we expect a good year. His passing and shooting ability will always make him a valuable asset.

At his age and with trends the way they are I suspect Brad is going to become even more perimeter oriented, start drifitng out to that 3pt line, and go down the road of a Sam Perkins type of player.

Well the good news about Brad is that he is one of the best shooting Centers in the NBA, He is one of the best if not THE best passing Center in the NBA, he sets great picks and in general runs the pick and roll better than any other Center (mainly beceause he is a threat rolling both at and away). In general he has a very good basket ball IQ.

The bad news about Brad is that he is terrible at both team and man on defense. Has no vertical movement what so ever so can't block and gets out boarded by guys half his size. Even a lighter more fit Brad is sloth speed. The tenacity and meaness that made him a foul prone near thug is prety well gone so rather than 25 min of banging , the team gets a full 30 min of permiter play from ther Center.

Good News for the Kings: Brad Miller is still a top 5 Center in the NBA.

Bad News for NBA: Brad Miller is still a top 5 Center in the NBA.

I feel the same way.

Miller is probably my favorite King, tied with Artest, he impressed me a lot on team USA and i hope to see more energy from him this season.

One thing i agree on is his defense problems, it seemed in the international games like was hesitating to block shots, i dont know if thats the case or if he just needs to work on his speed, either way it can be worked on.

Im looking forward to seeing him in action, i think we will see more from him this season.

I am hoping for more intensity throughout the year from Brad. I know alot of ppl here kinda brush off the coaching change as nothing or they look at is a downside. Just look at the difference Avery Johnson made in the attidtude of Dallas as apposed to Nellie. Now Johnson is like Muss and Nellie was like Adleman. So we can only hopre for some of the same results.

I think Brad is great...there's only one maybe two potential deals where I would be okay losing Brad... KG or Pau Gasol. Other than that...we need to keep Brad.

I like Brad, but I would give him up for Pau, only because Pau is younger and more athletic. I disagree with Bricky that he will become strictly a perimeter player. Before he came to the Kings, people wondered how he would fit in with the Kings system of a high post center, such as Valde. We were all amazed at the skill's he had. Now people are questioning whether he'll be able to adapt to the low post position. He's always been a team player and I believe he'll do whatever is asked of him.

No, actually before he came to the Kings people who had watched him thought he would be a perfect fit precisely because he already WAS a high post jump shoting/passing center. At no point did he ever have any post game whatsoeer, and beleive it or not, he posted his best shotblocking numbers of his career under Rick Adelman. The only thing that has been a surprise is his declinging reboudning totals. Brad will not be the first perimeter oriented center to gradually become more so as he ages until he finally is nothing but a tall, slow guard.

brad miller, hmmmmmmmmm. TRADE HIM
brad miller is not a top 5 center in the league. not even a top 10. his shooting may rank among the top 10. his passing ability and outside shooting are exceptional, but not enough to carry a team in crunch time! you have to be able to move your feet and play above the rim. he cant do it. there are so many centers that i would take over him. okur, howard, ildrunas, camby. its rediculous how long the list is. and these aren't even the top centers in the league. with everything that went down this summer you would think we got rid of him already. he was invisible against the spurs. watching him run up and down the court makes me sick. reminds me of vlade. but at least vlade had some post moves. some tricks. miller just gets knocked around by undersized centers like amare. its pathetic. nail on the coffin. everyone knows our frontcourt is the biggest weakness. so why didnt we do anything about it????

^ I agree with you on the weakest frontcourt part and the part where we didn't do anything about it. I would trade Miller for a quality player and would not want to trade him away just for the sake of trading him away. Until then, he is ours. Its not like he is the worst center known to man. I would rather have Miller than Daniel Santiago...

Brad Miller

Hmmmmmm. We don't agree with you and obviously the people who make the decisions about the team don't either. Go Kings.
