Brad Miller Suspended

I don't think that he missed the test. He was taking something. JWill was suspended for that and Webber also. Jusr lack of brain. A retardedly irresponsible behavior. Luckly, that will have no consequences for our seaso whatsoever.

This is seemingly bad news, as the Kings will start off the season without a key piece in their offense. However, it's not like we're going to the playoffs next year anyways...so in the grand scheme if things: Miller missing 5 games and the Kings losing all 5 isn't that bad. That's 5 steps closer to the Ricky Rubio show!

Also frees up some PT for the youngsters: JT, Hawes, and Shelden.

However, I DO hope Miller has a good season when he returns, and hopefully this incident does not forebode an underperforming years of 06/07. Brad was actually fun to watch last year...

Yeah it will. There was someone a while back that went to the wrong place or some excuse and was suspended for five games for missing the test. As Gary said. Missing the test is the same as failing one. I told him to stop smoking the sardines.

You get supsended only if you had tested positive before. 3rd times a charm and he seems to have been busted twice. If he has already been hit twice and he then misses a drug test that is considered failing. You don't get suspended if you have been clean your entire career and you then miss a drug test....

Isn't it possible that he simply took some type of pain medication (remember, he has some old bones in that body) that showed up in the test as a precursor for something more serious?

What if you miss a test 3 times??

3 times? Without being able to sort it out? And then issuing an apology afterward?

No, he pretty clearly did something. Weed seems by far the most likely culprit in this case. fits the penalty. Fits the personality.

I read the player's associating drug program, and violation for weed for the 3rd time results in a 5 game suspension.

lol this is more funny than anything, i thought it was something even more serious when i heard dramatic grant napier and mike "congested" Lamb.

So funny the quote about him not working out. As it is pretty much proven that if you exert yourself at least once or twice in the days after smoking marijuana, that it will be out of your system in around 3-5 days. I guess he's a big guy so it might take longer....but damn, get on the treadmill before you go pee in that cup!

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I was making an assumption that he has failed a drug test at some pt in his career.

My main concern in all this truly is our ability to trade Brad over the summer in light of this news. We were already fighting Geoff's basic nature, but if this ends up acting as an extra impediment, it may be all the excuse needed for it not to get done.

As for the 5 games themselves -- good. Best thing for us is for Brad to play as little as possible in the upcoming season, and Spenser and Thompson to play as much as possible. But it would be better yet for Brad to not even be part of the equation.

Eh....I'd rather see our young guys play anyway. This just ensures that Hawes and Thompson will see more p.t.

Whatever Brad. I get tested for drugs at work and if I fail a test I'm FIRED. I wouldn't be able to apologize and be excited for the upcoming day of work.

wow... miller failing a drug test... we know it wasnt steroids, that would mean he was working out...

Ha-ha, that's awesome. If he was suspended for taking 'roids, he better get refund! Those pills weren't workin'!!!

Now that I think about it, Brad's slow speech pattern and super laid back personality is indicative of someone who smokes weed regularly, or semi-regularly.

Remember the comment made by the Maverick player, Josh Howard? Should we really be surprised?

I don't mind he likes to mellow out with a few puffs of the ganja, but the guy is a hillbilly country hick moron for getting caught 3x.

We don't need this kind of B.S. when we are trying to build a winning culture.

It all makes sense now when he started last season with the dread lock look...our starting center is a white 7'0' Bob Marley.

I wonder what the reaction in this town would be if it had been Ron Artest failing a drug test for the third time and getting suspended 5 games next season? As I recall, Artest was suspended 7 games (or was it 8) at the beginning of last season for getting into a relatively minor domestic dispute with his wife - of course compounded since he was already on probation with NBA for worse matters.

Has any NBA player ever been suspended for steroid use? There were rumors about Darius Miles, but he wouldn't seem to be the most obvious user.

Answer to your question...Yes. BUT that's just based on insider information, as the league forbids any kind of expansion on the basic announcement.

But this isn't about Artest, thank God. And I, for one, am really glad it's not. He has enough freaking drama without more...

I cannot wait for the day when talking about Ron Artest in every single thread becomes fodder for the NBA forum and not Kings Rap.

What is there to wonder about? Obviously with Ron's list of transgressions, the city would be ready to cane and lynch the guy and run him out of town if it had been RonRon instead of Brad.

Brad's on/off court track record has been pretty clean except two years ago when got fat as shamu the whale, and also when he commits a foul he throws a temper tantrum like a 5 year old child whose ice cream sundae was taken away, besides that he's been solid.

I am still surprised that there was so much, well, surprise over Josh Howard's comments a few months ago. I mean, millions upon millions of "regular" people smoke marijuana recreationally. Why was it such a surprise that NBA players do it as well? Especially when they are people that only "work" about 8 months out of the year. That gives 4 months of weed smoking time. I know a lot of people that would love to have that sort of a vacation :D

Although I am a tad surprised our hick from the sticks is tokin' the funny stuff, but, in all honesty, I don't really mind it.

I see no problem!!!
