Pathetic from KOC. I don't understand the weird vendetta vs the Kings from the national media
Sadly, I think he's right about the last part. The starting five from last season has been fine but our bench unit feels like they took a step backward...

We're missing those random Terence Davis blow-ups where he could carry us when one of our stars was having an off night. Sasha feels like he has big game potential but he's barely getting any playing time. I also don't agree with Mike Brown' decision to cut Mitchell out of the rotation completely. He's played poorly this season but it seems like a mental thing dating back to his benching in the GS series and that's just bizarre from a player's coach who historically has always valued standout defenders.

Agreed, it's just one game and it's not a surprise that the Celtics came in laser focused after dropping the game last night. The Kings aren't necessarily title contenders as currently constructed so it's just a sign that Boston is a notch above the Kings.

Hard to take him seriously after he ranked Killian Hayes ahead of Ant, Tyrese, and LaMelo

As long as this game serves as motivation for wins against our Western Conference foes Friday and Saturday I’m good.
I hope we'll beat at least the Suns. They seem to be struggling. Doubt we'll beat the Wolves... since it's a back to back and we all know Kings haven't been all that good on back to backs.

It just shows that the Kings have a long way to go............I actually feel like the Kings were a better team last year.........They just seemed incredibly strong much of last year. This year they are a very inconsistent team. Almost as if they have taken a step back this season.
The league is stronger and Domas has been pretty open about teams figuring them out to some degree. The Kings have a problem when scoring under that magic mark in a quarter. 25 or less and it's a problem. The alarming stat was those assist numbers they showed a game or so ago. If they were spot on that is. When getting less than 29 a game the Kings are well below .500. That basically means when the team offense isn't firing, you're a lotto team if true. I haven't looked them up to fact check but if true that's a good stat that's not so good in reality.

The difference seems to be barnes and huerter. From last year to this year their numbers have gone down pretty signicantly

And this thread is entirely predictable. The same debbie downers in here crying during a bad game and nowhere to be found in a majority of the game-thread wins. Typical misery loves company.
it’s mostly just 3 or 4 people. Do yourself a favor and hit that ignore button. You won’t miss their “contribution” and it will be one less annoying thing to deal with during a loss haha.

Definitely. I'm not going to say for sure it's butthurt but that has to factor in. Monte basically was on board with trading/cutting both this summer and because Beal has a big mouth they know it now, lol. Still, it's the system guys that will struggle when the system gets figured out a bit. Not every team is going all in to stop the DHO but in the end it averages out I guess.

Hope this well-deserved ass kicking motivates them to come out with the right mentality on both offense and defense.
The Kings did score 41 in the 1st Quarter tonight so it's hard to argue that they didn't come out ready to play from the jump on that end of the floor. Maybe that's part of the problem though? As long as we were trading baskets there was no urgency to fix the defense. It might be time to move Keon Ellis into Huerter's spot in the lineup or something. Keegan is working really hard on defense but on a lot of possessions early it felt like he was the only guy out there who was focused on getting stops.

What exactly is wrong with what KOC is saying? He is just highlighting the known shortcomings of this team. I'm pretty sure Monte is also aware of it.
He's right, but it does certainly come across as an overcompensating "I told you so". Who else told us so? Mike Brown. He's been very open to the fact that the Kings struggle against bigger, more physical teams. They know this. Pels, Rockets, C's, etc. I mean, it's rather obvious.

I don’t think I can defend Huerter any longer. His month has been absolutely horrific. Way worse than any month or cold streak people were complaining about before. It’s not even about missing shots right now. He doesn’t seem like he’s a part of it right now.

Hot streak is surely on the way, but it’s clear he is too streaky to be the long term guy here as I had hoped.
He's a streak shooter. Not a deadly shooter that you can rely on a nightly basis. Keegan, now that's a true deadly shooter. Huerter? Nah. Like I said, the reason he's in the starting lineup is because of his long strive able to get any shot he want by running around Sabonis...very hard to guard. But at the same time, he ain't that a great shooter so we can be wasting a lot of possessions going to him rather than Keegan.

I definitely don't believe that the "national media" has a vendetta against the Kings. I do think that Kevin O'Connor might have a vendetta against the Kings, which makes it hard to give him the benefit of the doubt, even when what he's saying isn't out of pocket.

Because it's wrong.

Everyone knows the problems the Kings have had this season. We're also off to our best start in 25 years with some of the best quality wins in the entire NBA over the best teams in the NBA. It's a bad loss. Almost all our losses have been bad. Doesn't mean we just get to discount our wins as nothing too.

But don't pretend to be an NBA writer when your only Kings tweets are 1. Making fun of a Domas defense clip and then 2. Tweeting what he did above. It's lazy and screams of him just wanting to be right above his Domas take rather than what's actually going on with the Kings.

Same crap with the Harper tweet. Doesn't know Davion is out of the rotation, thinks HB is our best defender when in reality has been our worst. Says we need a 1-4 defender, when Keegan has clearly developed into that guy if he bothered to watch a half of Kings basketball.

It's just lazy, sick and tired. They're all butt-hurt that they don't get to fire off "LOL PACERS FLEECED THE DUMB DUMB KINGS" take with full authority because Domas is playing at an All-NBA level and the Kings are good for the first time in 20 years. It's clear how much that bothers them with their bias in talking and discussing the Kings. And even 2 years later, when this deal is possibly the biggest win-win that's happened in a long time involving stars, is still brought up all the time, despite a bevy of horrible trades coming before and after it.
