You see the immense talent in both and they are both like 19, I see talent in WCS (was not a bad pick at all) but I don't see the talent in him I see in the other guys. What Booker has been doing in downright crazy regardless if he's a #1 option. When your a bad team you don't draft for fit imo you draft for highest potential.
Downright crazy? Lets keep some perspective here. The Suns are right there with the Lakers and Philly the last 3 months since Bledsoe and Knight went down with injury as the worst team in basketball. Booker is 16-2-3 on 52% TS since being made a starter. In March, his best month, he's 21-2-5 on 52% TS taking 18 shots a game. He's been absolutely horrid defensively as PHX is ranked in the bottom 3 against SG's this season, a spot largely manned by Booker. PHX is probably worse than us in back-court defense.
Again, I get he's 19 and there's long way to go with his development. I think he's going to be a very good player in the near future, but I'm not seeing this future all-star that has leaps and bounds more potential than WCS.
WCS has exceeded 30 MPG 6 times this season (seriously, that's it). Here are his averages in those games:
10.2 PPG, 9.2 RPG, 0.7 APG, 1.1 BPG, 1.3 SPG, on 68.6% TS, 33 MPG, with a +8.6 +/-
Had I put the name Tyson Chandler in 2010 with these stats, 99% of you would have believed it to be true. That efficiency would also be the best in the league if he had the minutes to qualify.
It's actually hilarious looking at his +/- based on minutes when he's on the floor too:
0-9 minutes: -12.3
10-19 minutes: -5.5
20-29 minutes: -2.9
30+ minutes: +8.6
Normally don't trust flat +/-, but it becomes a better indicator over a larger sample and more minutes. Take it for what you will, but this clearly suggests that we play better when he's given big minutes.
