Boogie & Rudy's Excellent Adventure

This is common sense. Who in the NBA will allow an opposing player to elbow them in the throat? If anything Cousins should receive praise for showing tremendous restraint.

There is very little mentioned in the media about Jonas Valanciunas and his elbow to Cousins throat in regards to Jonas being out of line. The focus is on Cousins reaction which involved a balled up fist and a mean look.

Here is a pretty good clip of the incident - http://www.gfycat.com/LazyBleakHartebeest

I think it depends on where you're looking. I heard/saw numerous comments that were about the initial elbow. I could probably go back and find links if you want them badly enough.

In watching the match against France, it seems as though that elbow to the throat of the opponent is a regular part of Valanciunas' game. I've seen him do it at least twice, but not as strongly as he did against Cousins.

Google " Demarcus Cousins lithuania" and you will see page after page of search results about what a bad guy Cousins is. I never cared about the positive publicity that could be created for Cousins via the FIBA World Cup tournament, but it really looks like the media will stick with this incident and bring it up over and over again whenever anyone tries to point to the FIBA tournament as being a positive growing experience for him.

Again, you find what you look for. The media outlets I follow and have at least a modicum of respect for are, for the most part, treating this whole thing a lot better than I would have hoped for.

In other news, it was just announced during the France-Lithuania game that Rudy Gay may not play in the championship game. Thanks, Lithuania.

Watching the game right now....2 quick fouls on Davis and fouls on Cuz and Faried....and I didn't agree with any of them unless USA bigs get to clutch and grab too

Cuz with a great 1st Q...Kyrie going off

HE'S ON FIRE!

Kyrie is absolutely on fire. If it weren't for his amazing shooting, it would be almost impossible to make a case that Cousins wasn't the key player for the U.S. in the first quarter. Great team D, a block and a snatch off the rim (not sure if that is a "block"), several big rebounds in traffic, forced a baseline TO...just having a great game.

I may not agree with all the whistles, but they at least seem to be attempting to be balanced.

For the last few minutes, Coach K should maybe think about Drummond and Plumleee so that Cuz doesn't pick up another foul

Anyone want to argue IT is better than Irving?

That might be the most ludicrous line of commentary our announcers (and some "experts") have ever put forth.

No. In fact, I'd be deliriously happy if nobody else bothers to bring IT up at all...ever. :p
