Boogie on SportsNation at 3pm ET

Anyone got a link to a video of a replay of the show? If it is illegal forget that I asked, lol.

I thought Demarcus came across really well. Stuff like this will definitely help in his campaign for next year's all-star and all-nba teams by increasing his visibility to the rest of the country. The show will be on again at 11pm (Pacific) on ESPN News.

Boogie is working hard to rehabilitate his image. This show stunk but it showed Boogie as the nice guy he usually is and that was a plus. It is not worth finding a stream. Stupid, stupid show but then maybe that's what will help Boogie a lot. BTW, he said he was 6'10".

Chris Mullin is on SVP show on espn and he is saying that they want to build a team like the spurs where you beat teams with ball movement. And he liked the way Ben is improving.

if Chris Mullin weren't a Nellie disciple idiot and failed GM I would actually care what he said. Still annoyed our newbie owner brought some of his loser Golden State toys with him. Utter crap franchise for decades, and that's what we get as a talent pool.

As is, since we could not be any further from the Spurs if we tried (they were first in assists, we were last), statements like this continue to show apparent vast disconnects between owners/advises/GMs/coaches. We drafted a kid who can't dribble, and hence can't move the ball. We traded for an iso player. Gave up an unselfish passing guard. kept a little gunner guard. Picked up great ball movers like Reggie Evans and Derek Williams over the course of the year. the words have at no time matched the actions since the new ownership took over. The only thing they said would happen which actually has is a dedication to Boogie, and his resulting blossoming.

Well, the Den/GS model and the SA model are completely different. We keep hearing talk of wanting to follow one, while our moves suggest we're following another.

Talk is cheap. We'll know in about 6 weeks which route we're going. There's not much middle ground between those two models. Any acquisitions will be considerable evidence of going one route or the other.

If we're going to follow the SA model, we're going to get some defensive bigs who don't eat up shots to put next to Cuz up front(Landry doesn't accomplish that, that's a Den/GS move style move), we're going to have a PG who can score 1v1 and create, but is also more than comfortable taking a back seat to others, running the offense and keeping others involved(not IT or Ray), and we're going to have a bunch of 3&D system players, off the ball players who are floor spreaders(not Rudy/Ben/DWill/Outlaw) types. Malone's PG dominant system doesn't reflect Pop's system either. Whether it was IT/Ray/Jimmer playing point at times last year, there was a common them. Gun, and gun some more. Look for your shot. That ain't Pop or SA.

Even going after Kevin Love doesn't fit a SA/Pop style. They either put a guy like Splitter next to Duncan, or a Diaw who can post, handle, get into the teeth of the defense and create for others, and really is much more a Lamar Odom type player than the targets we've heard/seen our FO go after next to Cuz(Love/Landry/Evans/Acy), none of which are similar to a Splitter or a Diaw.

We're going to find out very soon whether our FO is on the same page or not and as we stand, I think we have multiple philosophies within our organization, with Malone and PDA really not being on the same page.

Malone figured out ways to get Rudy and DMC in good positions to attack but once they got there that was it, It was all about individual talent at that point.

So if they want to run a system offense based on ball movement they better communicate that to Malone because he clearly didn't get the memo.

Well I just have to disagree! First of all, well, let me think...........Ok, second of all, I think that, ahhhhh, and futhermore, that brings me to my third point. Which is, well, I don't really have a third point, but think about my first two points explain it all....

I don't disagree with much of what you said. I could make individual arguments in some areas, like, it appears at times that the few players you have on the team that are willing to be unselfish and move the ball, seldom get the ball back if they do. This team in no way resembles the Spurs, or the old Kings. The question I have is, is it totally the fault of the players, or is it the system their being asked to play in? Cousins has shown the ability to move the ball, and can be a very good passer at times. So it appears to me that he could certainly play within a similar system to the Spurs. McLemore has surprised me with some of his passes, and it appears that perhaps he could be groomed to play in that system. Ditto McCallum! Not sure about Gay, but he seemed to adapt to what Malone wanted when he came here, so who knows? I also don't know about JT, who actually played guard in highschool and in his first year of college at Rider. Regardless of whether JT can or not, he's not the best fit for other reasons, but would be fine off the bench.

Ultimately, I come to whether Malone is the right coach or not. And by no means am I implying that he has to go. I think he was basicly flying by the seat of his pants this past season, and spent more time on teaching defense than developing a good unselfish offense. Regardless of what some may think, the defense did improve, and was best the last 30 games of the season. I do think we need to see some improvements on the offensive of the ball this year, and I don't mean scoring more points, but in effiency. Scoring a lot of points doesn't mean much if your averaging 42% from the floor. More missed shots means more fast breaks for the other team. More made baskets means you force the other team to play halfcourt basketball, and that alone improves your defense. I guess what I'm saying is that I think we do have some players that are capable of playing Spurs type basketball, but it's up to the coaching staff to implement it. I might add that it helps if your core players remain the same for several years.

Thinking "aloud" here--could IT play in a Pop-style offense? Some stats of note: Parker's USG this season and IT's are nearly identical: 26.5 and 26.3. IT even has a slight edge in assist percentage--32.2 to 31.7. But is assist percentage even useful? According to that metric, me-first Gay and team-first Diaw both measure out at 16.3

More spitballing on assist percentage--Cousins (17.3) edges Duncan (16), but the disparity between the shooting guards is galling. Compare Green (8.9), Ginobili (29), Belinelli (13.2), to McLemore (5.8) and Thornton (6.6). I think the Kings could use a secondary ballhandler or two! Splitter (10.2) is also much better at this metric than JT (4.1) or Evans (4.8).

I think the Kings are capable of it, but will they do it with the current roster? Doubt it.

In general both Reggie Evans and DW were good for ball movement since they both know how to cut and play without the ball, while niether is a great passer for there to be ball movement you need players who know how to move off the ball and D-Will/Reggie in particular know how to do this.

Just cause someone can't dribble like Mclemore does not mean he's bad for ball movement, in general Mclemore on this team is better for ball movement than just about anyone on the team. You can have 5 great passers on one team but if no one knows how to move without the ball than it means nothing.

The ball movement stalls when Rudy/IT have the ball or DMC decides he's not going to pass out of triple teams(which he did way less this year). As long as a player does not catch and hold the ball he does not have to be a good passer to help ball movement just making basic passes/timely cuts is all you need for good ball movement.

He could play the exact same role as Patrick Mills but not as a starting PG.
