Bon-ZI! Bon-ZI! Bon-ZI!

The Spurs never did fix the weakness Bonzi revealed in their team from a couple of years back. They tried last year a little (Eric Williams), but Bonzi more or less took the year off. Now this year I guess Udoka would be the only thing wihtin remote range, and unfortunately for them Bonzi is back, and now he's playing on a team that could be a real danger to them come playoff time. Having a guy go nuts on you from a #8 seed may put a little scare in you, but you win anyway 99/100. Having a guy go nuts on you from a team that may be a darkhorse contender could be a difference maker.

The Rox are for real, and indeed Bonzi is simply a bad, baaad matchup for the Spurs. Both teams will be fine, esp. the Spurs, will just cruise along the reg season. But post season will be quite a challange should the Spurs meet the Rox, can coach Pop find a way to tame this beast off ?

Memo to coach Adelman, you've got a post season jewels in term of having a team with a real post presence, above average rebounding & defense. Please don't turn Yao into Brad Miller or Vlade, and the pass around, share the wealth offense, please tweak it to suit your team twin superstars.

Okay, this is just funny... Rick Adelman is the one who brought out the very, very, very best in the Kings teams of our "golden era." I don't think Rockets fans are too worried about him turning Yao Ming into Brad Miller. And, for the record, I wouldn't dump on Vlade Divac too much. He will always be known as one of the best passing big men ever to play the game. Why? Because Adelman knew how to get the most out of players. He'll do the same with the Rockets. He adapts his coaching to fit the talents of what he has... If it weren't for Chris Webber's knee, that very style would have led to at least one championship and perhaps two.

I agree with you. I don't understand why people around here hate on Rick. He is the -only- coach to have brought an interesting style and success to the Kings. Now that we're ran him out on a rail, the Eric Musselman era beg-whoops the Reggie Theus era begins... well until we continue the coaching roullette again.

We really should have kept Rick here long term, ala Bill Cower for the Steelers, or Jerry Sloan in Utah.

Now without Rick, we suck, and our teams identity is gone, and our play style is unexciting. We're lucky we have a few young players worth watching while they develop, or it would be far far worse.

Yao basically owned the post that game. Yeah he sat out on the high post but he shot maybe 1 or 2 jumpshots. Everything else consisted of stuff on the low post.

Our broadcasters said it best, a lot of it had to do with the fact that Yao is still indecisive as to when to go high and go low and as a result he's not finding any balance and when he does go high, he's indecisive as to when to hit the cutter or hand the ball off. I thought the Spurs game was much better.

Also in an interview, Adelman said that they were running a lot of old JVG-esque ISO plays right now because they aren't comfortable yet with the new offense. RA is being more than flexible right now.

I agree wholeheartedly, and I believe this new tempo is great for Houston. However, I don't think that Yao is well suited for the high post. He is a good passer out of double teams or on the block, but that doesn't really translate into being able to operate from the high post. That ability is rarer and currently only a few big men (prob Brad, KG, and Webb if he is playing) could run it because that type of passing ability is usually unique to gaurds. Plus Yao is a serious weapon in the post who commands a double team at all times.

For some reason I get the warm fuzzies when I think about Adelman, Bonzi and the Rockets, especially when it involves running over anyone but the Kings:D

Ditto.

I'm interested in seeing how they do this year. Hopefully very well.
