Hall of Famer
lakers suck !!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is an early edition because I will be gone for a week. It is spring break and when I was cool Daytona beach was the usual destination. Now, I am not cool anymore so I will be visiting my parents and they did not enter age of internet just yet. I will miss Suns, Raptors and Warriors games. I will probably still watch them. I am sure that Venom will step in for me. He has done well.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another 3 game losing streak has been broken as Kings went to the city of botox, played a great game and came up with yes, a crucial stop at the end of the game when everyone was expecting Mr. Clutch to at least get to the line but it didn't happen. It is by far the biggest win of the season. And we didn't even need A.J.:p. Kings improve to meaningless 28-35 but while the previous 27 wins definitely hurt our draft position - this one is priceless. Kings improved to 10-23 on the road and FINALLY won a division game. Kings will have 3 days off before we host the Blazers.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Man, it has been very hard being a Kings fan in the last 2-3 years with way more disappointments than highlights, but nights like this make it all worth it. Nights like this make cold beer taste much smoother than usual. And while the rivalry is dead and no one cares, and while this is just one game as are all other games and while we aren't good anymore and while they are supposed to be good and so on - it still feels good, as good as they always feel and as they will always feel. Even when it matters the least - beating lakers is fun, it is good for the moral and it is never enough. It will never be enough just to win a game against them from time to time. It needs to happen over and over again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The games against lakers are easy for us because we know Kings will show up to play like they did a week ago and like they did tonight. It is not a regular thing with Kings this season. We skip many games and we lose them against bad teams. We always play lakers 100%. Tonight we were underdogs - big time and we lead almost the whole game and deserve to win as we did a week ago when we weren't allowed to. We match well with them and they really have one really good player and the rest isn't much better than what we have. That one really goos player beat us week ago with the help of 3 stooges but tonight he was bust whining and run out of tissues.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lakers suck ! They are overrated big time. They will be somewhat better if they get healthy Bynam back. they have kobe who plays as well as he whines and complains and he is unstoppable because no one is allowed to breath next to him. What else do they have ? Fisher who is only good for flopping these days, Radmanovic - the space cadet, Odumb - the original Clipper, Gasol - natural born loser. They guy has only won one big game in his career. All other big games he choked away. Vujacic may not even be 3rd Slovenian in the NBA. The have Walton - only player ever owned by KT, Farmer who might be decent one day and Turiaf which is their version of Mateen. They do have a great coach. They are overrated but they do have Dickie B, and VP and others helping out when needed. They won't win it all this season - so we will get the opportunity to watch kobe cry again. as a team - they are really good at whining and crying and complaining. best in the league. Just like those spoiled kids who are used to always get what they want and when it doesn't happen the way they want - the cry complain and act out. well, tonight they got spanked.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
So Ron is not sore anymore. As expected Ron returned because the stage was big enough for him Clippers and Wolves just aren't inspiring enough for such a talent. It was a game where he wanted to show that he is much better kobe than the original. Finally, coach was smart enough to keep him on the bench and not give him the opportunity to hit some fade away threes down the stretch. Obviously he helped beating lakers so he also deserves all the credit tonight but it does leave a sour taste a bit. will see how many more games he will decide to sit out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
After a scoreless game against the Wolves, Brad had an offensive explosion scoring whole 2 points. Obviously, disappointing despite having fairly good season. I am not sure what is going on but I will blame Brad for not being aggressive enough which is nothing new to us, Generally Brad needs to shut up and quit whining which is another thing he is wasting his energy on. When You have more technical fouls then points in a game something is wrong with You. I personally like the 20/20 Brad much more and I want him back
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beno is pretty good. Since he returned to the starting position he has been excellent and tonight he was huge. It has been years since we have had a point guard this efficient. Obviously, he needs to play better defense as the all other players need but I like what I see and if he isn't expensive enough we should keep him for a while bur we shouldn't overpay because this is his contract season and and one never knows what happens to a player when they do get a new contract. Keep it up Beno!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spener Hawes picked the best possible stage to have a career game so far. Watching him tonight, I had 2 thoughts on my mind. Kings do draft well and Muss junior needs to be told to let this kid play more minutes. He blocked 4 shots tonight. I don't even remember when it was last time that a Kings player had 4 blocks. Spencer is still a rookie and he will need time till he becomes consistent and he will make his share of mistakes but this is the time when we can afford to let him make them and grow. The kid has potential to be a very decent player in the future and he needs to stay healthy and play more. There are no excuses - not to play him at least 25 minutes a night.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings managed to shut down kobe in the 2nd half and that was the key because the other lakers just aren't enough to beat us. The FTA were almost even compared to -20 or so that we had last game. It is a rarity for us to win the game having 21 assist on 20 turnovers but the opponent was even worse. We came to play and we knew that they aren't a better team and that we match up well with them. Finally A.J. had his best game as a Kings and I salute him for it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
AWARD TIME

Vujacic gets the TDM but he was only the 2nd best Slovenian on the floor
LW-VC went to Farmer because he wasn't nearly as good as advertised.
RA&1 award goes to the kobe the whiner
When Kings beat lakers - I don't usually give out any awards for our guys but tonight Brad left me no choice and JHA is his.

WTF moment of the game - there was an offensive foul called on Artest in the first half as a compensation call, It was a brutally bad call.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We get 3 days to enjoy this win before the Blazers come to visit us. Blazers are 33-30 and 11-21 on he road. We played them twice on the road and we split the games. Now we play at ARCO and unfortunately that means nothing because we couldn't even beat the Wolves. Blazers are young and athletic and their front line will cause us problems but with the effort which we put in tonight - we have a good shot of beating them especially since we are their last game on the 5 games road trip.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Beno - we want more
Ron - anything else sore ? nice 4th quarter btw
Kevin - good
Brad - come on man we need you
Mikki - he caught the ball

Hawes - very nice
Cisco - finally
Salmons - good defense
rest - mateen

Muss junior - play the kids coach
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Since Blazers have 2 more games before playing us on Thursday - hard to make predictions. They did win their first 2 games on the 5 game trip that they are on and that will finish in Sacramento. it is also a Thursdays game that won't be on TNT but the highlights will which means a mandatory bashing from Charles who does love Muss Junior. Joel for TDM, Roy for LW-VC and Kings win - maybe.

don't want to open a thread on the NBA part of forum, but I do want to congratulate brother Hedo for his triple double tonight

what else is he supposed to do? focus? they're playing the kings. i would be more concerned with carrying on in bars and looking for women.

he said Sac was in the bottom three as far as NBA road cities go and he did say it had the worst nightlife. I can think of at least three cities I will never go to that are probably a worse road city than Sac. Salt Lake, Minneapolis, and Milwaukee. Id imagine Indianapolis and San Antonio are pretty dull as well. Cleveland cant be that exciting, and Portland isn't even that great. So I have no idea what Channing is getting at.

The point is that it's irrelevant. He isn't coming to town to experience the rich and varied nightlife. He's coming to town to do a job. Maybe if he paid more attention to that, he'd find himself getting more than 7 minutes a game.

Yeah, if he doesnt watch it, he'll turn into Loren Woods...:D

Channing Frye is an idiot. He should remember that he's getting paid millions of dollars to do a job, not to tour the country and rank the nightlife. If his attitude is that the NBA is an all expense paid vacation around the US, then he'll be out of the league very soon.

But would he get more women?:D

Wow? Channing Frye? No wonder why his best season was with the Knicks. Not surprising that they were a losing team...must have been spending too much time with the "nightlife"...

At least today was Oden's first practice, rather than first game. Until then, Portland's got as little to play for as we do.
