Big Z????

I think this a realistic trade. The Cav's are not happy the Big Z and we are not happy with Miller. Both are slow but Z is a better defender where are Miller is better offensively. Both have the same contract too.

You know, that is not bad as a suggestion considering the philosophical stances of the two coaches right now. Unlikely of course, but the sort of thing that has nice logical underpinnings.

Basically as I understand it Z is struggling because their coach instituted sets that look more like our old Princeton wiht his bigs up in the high post -- clears up room for LeBron. Z has some skils, but its not a great role for him. Meanwhiel Brad has precisely the skills for that kind of arrangement, and may be the perfect center option for LeBron to drive and kick too.

Now that said, first of all Danny Ferry is a big (maybe too big) Big Z fan. gave him the big contract, has unreasonable confidence in a good, but not great, player. Secondly, Z is really their only shotblocker. Would they really move him to bring back a guy like Brad?

i hopw so. This trade helps both teams. Also he may be their only shotblocker but thier coach does not seem to value his shotblocking much because he is only getting just over 20 minutes a game.

I agree this trade actually makes some sense for both teams and both players have roughly the same contract so money shouldn't be an issue.

I'm not a fan of Big Z but he fits in Sacto better than Miller, now that they abandoned Adelman's motion/princeton offense. He'd give Sacramento a legit post presence and he can hit his jumpers as well if necessary. He'll also give you some defense, some being the operative word because he's pretty slow and doesn't really jump very well anymore. But that some is better than what Miller gives you.

Cleveland has always been starving for 3 point shooters. Donyell Marshall and Damon Jones haven't cut it by any means and Larry Hughes was never a good 3 point shooter to begin with. So Miller wouldn't be a bad move for them and would be great for Lebron to kick it out too. Also, Miller is probably the best passing center in the NBA and would be great for a team that lacks a true pass first point guard (eric snow is getting really old now).

eh... not a real answer, but an interesting idea. z vanished in the playoffs last year and is getting older. brad's struggling right now but can still be a valuble player. i don't really think the cavs will bite anyways.

Given Big Z's age and injury history I don't think I'd do this trade. I don't think Ilgauskas is that much better than Brad, if at all. He may get some blocked shots, but I don't think he's actually better defensively overall because he's not as mobile (which is really saying something given how slow Brad is), and Brad is more versatile offensively with his ability to pass. I'm enh on this proposal.

What about Miller's history when it comes to playoffs and injuries. Every year he breaks down shorty after the ALL Star break. I would rather have a center that rebounds and blocks shots then one that does neither.

I Ecstatically Approve

Go for it GP! Make us proud. This would improve our health immediately, ie Christie w/ plantar faciitis for Mobely w/ hops, will give us long term stability in the middle, will give us a shot blocker, and better defender in a team trying to emphasize defense, but getting killed in the paint, and will improve our inside scoring, as Zydrunas primarily posts for lay ups Yao style, and doesn't hoist up 3-pointers.

I realy like this trade. Someone should send an e-mail to GP and tell him to get on the phone with Danny Ferry and make this thing happen ASAP (Seriously, who has his e-mail address...Anyone... anyone...Bueller...Bueller...Bueller). It makes the most sense for keeping King James happy, and improving the Kings D and inside presence (which is deteriorating to abysmal depths) helping both teams, in different conferences no less.

Would have to agree here. Big Z doesn't impress me enough with his inside defense to make this a viable alternative. Atleast Brad hustles and does some dirty work which is more that I can say Ilgauskas. On offense Brad is also much better at setting picks and freeing up other player. His passing and shooting is another thing we lose out on. In terms of breaking down, they both have their fair share of injuries though. I would have have to say no, but it is an interesting proposal.
