Bibby needs to go

He is not the bibby we once saw. You can say he is hurt, but whatever. Ron should be the man we are trying to keep. This scenario is only based on the fact that the Hawks suck at PG... but I understand that a shoot first point guard isn't exacly what they would want with JJ on the team... but let me know what you think...

Sacramento Trade Breakdown Outgoing

Mike Bibby
Incoming
Wright_Lorenzen_mem.jpg
Lorenzen Wright
6-11 C from Memphis

Shelden Williams
6-9 from Duke
Claxton_Speedy_noh.jpg
Speedy Claxton
5-11 PG from Hofstra

For us it should be a no brainer... cap flexibility and 2 defenisve Bigs. Plus speedy is a decent player. We could through in fansisco just for fun... but they don't need anotehr 2/3 player. Any thoughts?

Love it...
theres no way Atlanta makes this trade though..
Maybe find a third team that Bibby could help make a championship run with..

I'm not sure about that no brainer stuff -- Wright looks like he's fading, Shelden is undersized and hasn't looked good yet (although always tempting with a lottery pick), and Speedy is fun but not big time. You could do it with the Shelden x-factor, but he really doesn't look like a star in the making, and I am oh so tired of the term "flexible" as euphonism for "lots of less talented".

a pick from them? no way. why would they? why would atlanta or anyone want mike bibby realistically? for 12 mil? 2 more years? We should be trying to do our best to get out of mikes contract... he cant contribute anymore

As bad as bibby has played, he's worth A LOT more than that package in a trade. I'd rather keep him and let him opt out for absolutely nothing than acquire that awful package.

Too much good can happen from keeping Bibby. He is either locked up for us or a 13 million dollar expiring. The only way I think he should be moved is for guaranteed cap relief and/or draft picks and young players.

bibby isn't going to opt out! U crazy? noone is going to pay him what we did... bibby is getting all star money... and he isnt and all star. There is no good to keeping bibby. unless you call making Ron mad a good thing... We are going to loose Ron if we keep bibby. So lets pretend we are seeking a championship, not trying to stick to our loyal players... bibby has been great. but a divorce is absolutly needed.

Someone will pay for Bibby and it probably will be us. He has been great for us over the years and it is sick and wrong that he has not been an allstar before. I am very confident he will come out of this slump in a big way. Offensively, I have no long term concerns for him. However, the offer this trade throws on the table is way short of what we ought to get for Mike. A draft pick from a lottery team? He isnt worth that much. This deal? He is worth a heck of alot more then that.

that would actually make atlanta good. they got lots of young players for bibby to throw to. this trade would get them the desperately needed seasoned floor general to run the show there. i'm still in disbelief they passed up on deron williams and cp3 to pick marvin williams.

if you said something to the effect of, shelden williams, their upcoming first round pick and a ender, i would definitely listen :)

Oh lordy. People forget quickly sometimes. Guy gets off to a rough start to a season, and all of a sudden he's finished at 28.

I'd trade Mike and Pot to Boston for Telfair, Ratliff, and Perkins.

I might be willing to go West, Ratliff and Perkins, but I am not at all sold on Sebastian Telfair. Still young, but man has it been all hype to this point. In any case, not willing to do either deal unless or management is makign a firm committment to rebuilding -- TRULY rebulding -- with youth. because mIke for those guys, for "flexible" rotation guys is a step back if we're trying to be serious in the here and now, and while I like Perkins and West, neither looks to have the potential to be a star level player either now or in the future.

My same thoughts, Brick. We have so many fans looking for instant gratification that patience, when a player goes through tough times, is out of the question.

And to those who will say that Bibby should have turned it around by now.......it is not unheard of for players to have season long slumps. I sincerely do not believe that is the case with Mike. He had a fantastic pre-season (before his injury). Now, I believe he simply needs to "get out of his head" and let the ball fly. Once he finds his natural rhythm and release, he'll be fine.

I have been wanting to get rid of Mike for years. He has never played D. and His best days were when he came off screens from webber and Vlade. Without them... he has been average.
