Berger: Kings seeking frontcourt help.

Been asking around about Faried. Denver fans think he worth a great deal, would be McLemore and some firsts instead of Nik. I'm not so sure GM's think the Faried contract is all that great. Probably would be better off to wait on Faried till draft time if Denver even wants to blow it up.
I can imagine PDA on the phone now.

"Hey guys, it's Petey. As you know, the fans are on my ass right now so I need to make a splash. What's the worst contract on your roster?

-Oh. Really? Well, how about I give you our high lotto player from last years draft and a bunch of first rounders to sweeten the deal. Are you sure you don't want to take this Demarcus guy off my hands?"

I feel as if we will not be involved in any trades worth mentioning. PDA thinks he has a good roster. He's going to bet on it.

I have lost all faith in this FO. I don't see any hope asides from PDA being banished to another continent. I'm so tired of being perennial losers. So tired of being a joke. So tired of watching good players coming here and be horrible, then leave and be good again.

Where is the light at the end of the tunnel? A high school coach wouldn't want to get involved in this mess. Not that it matters since Mullin is clearly candidate number one two and three.

I never wished anyone something bad but if PDA fell and hit his head and developed amnesia forcing someone else to become GM we would be better off. I have never seen a bigger fool and blatant liar than PDA. Scumbag and brownnoser written all over him.

LOL

Yeah, but Denver may sell low later, if we even want Faried's contract that is.

......................................................
If nothing happens by the trade deadline, there are other possibilities other than PDA believing and betting on he has a good roster. One being paralysis from being afraid of being wrong again. Another is PDA's hands are now tied because of the bad advice that he reportedly gave when he and Mullin flew to Vegas. The ramifications of canning him now are probably not worth it. It would probably just add more damage, you just prevent him from doing an encore performance.

But I don't have a clue in terms of motivation, direction or anything else with regards to the powers that be. Would not surprise me of a even greater power struggle than has already been displayed behind the scenes.

Firing PDA won't change a damn thing. Vivek/Mullin is gunning to be the worst brain trust in the NBA. They possess the magical trifecta of terrible ideas, a fanatical belief that said terrible ideas are actually brilliant genius ideas, and an intolerance of any sort of dissent that leads them to fire or force out anyone who disagrees with them.

If that were actually true and PDA were just some puppet then there is still considerable value to riddling PDA with so many holes they have to toss their bullet shield aside and come out in the open where we can tee off on them. Mullin is hiding now. He has influence but no official position. If he's going to be making decisions for the franchise I want him our front and center where I can get at him.

I like that. In terms of "official" position, I could have sworn someone gave his official title. I'm just not sure where.

Actually, now that you've brought it up, I've thought for some time that the job Mullins covets, is PFA's job. I put myself in his shoes (a little large) and I ask, why would I want to be the coach of this dysfunctional team? If I'm the coach, I'm on the hotseat. The spotlight is on me. Absolutely no place to hide, and I agree with you, Mullins seems to like taking credit, but not the blame. You can't do that if your the head coach. However, the GM position affords a certain amount of wiggle room. You can always blame the coach if a deal or a draft pick doesn't work out. Plus, he's had some experience at the job. He's probably familiar with most of the other GM's around the league.

So ask yourself. If your PDA and Mullins comes to you with a suggestion about a trade, a draft pick, or the removal of a coach, are you going to argue with him, or after listening, agree with him? This is the guy that whispers in Vivek's ear. If I'm PDA, I'm looking over my shoulder.

I heard that Taj Gibson rumor as well...I'm thinking he wants to start and that's not happening with Pau in town. He is owed I believe 17 million for the this season and next....

He's got a 3 year, 8-9 million per. Landry would likely go out back to Chicago. Obviously would have to sweetin the deal for the Bulls though. May cost a lot.

Remove restrictions from the pick? Is the three years including this one? Don't know if I would do it or not ........................ yes I would if they took Landry.

Taj is currently on a 3 year deal.

This probably gets it done.

Lower pick protections to top 3.

Move Nik to a third team who then gives Chicago incentive, or the Bulls can take him directly.

Dropping the pick is not enough to take back Landry, but he actually would be useful for them. Adding Nik too may be too much.

Taj will be 30 this year.

Basically we hose this season anyway, then get two solid seasons for Taj. Count on him staying in Sacramento for maybe 2 more years after that on a fair contract.

Basically is an ideal fella besides Cousins worth a pick we would lose eventually anyways, that is still protected top 3, and Nik too much to pay?

I think we are good enough to make this move.

With both the Landry and Thompson excessive contracts, it is going to be hard to get much of a supporting cast as is for awhile too.
