Beno Vs Bobby Brown

Beno has not earned his 30+ minutes this year. Bobby Brown is younger, has a better shot, is Quicker, Can set people up just as good as Beno if not better and is a better defender.

Again the management is letting Ego take over because they signed beno to a longterm deal and dont want to make that look bad. Well geuss what Bobby Brown has better potential and if he got the same time as Beno consistently he would be putting up the same numbers if not better numbers.

I propose NATT gives Bobby Brown the oppurtunity to Earn more minutes.
NATT should be splitting Bobbys and Benos minutes at PG 24 each. Then we will truly see who should be starting. or playing 30 + minutes.

***sry for starting so many threads but im just pissed at the lil things this organization is doing wrong.. I feel like I could run it better.

The thing is you can't just make big changes without affecting the team chemistry. If one day Natt goes ok Bobby you're starting and Beno you're backing him up for 25 min a game I think it'll affect the whole team. Same thing goes for trading players, it takes time to get a deal that works for both teams. As much as we want to trade Salmons and Miller we can't just get back junk for them.

I personally feel that this team needs to get an identity, both offensively and defensively. Find out what style works best with the current core players of Hawes JT Cisco and Martin and then make trades to get players who will fit with this. Right now our offense works in either of 2 ways. a) John Salmons isolation play, he drives and scores/screws up b) John Salmons isolation play, he drives and kicks out to our top notch shooting center Brad Miller. Hell the way we play we should just sign Reggie Miller to be our center - not like we'll lose out anything on the defensive end.

Yah its going to affect the team but were in rebuild mode. who gives a **** if we mess up a lil chemsiry right now... It cant hurt were loosing games anyways. We need to try new things out. Give players a real chance so we can really evaluate our talent. its not asking to much to see bobby on the floor more instead of Bobby Jackson (whom I love) but is time to get our heads straight. Bobby Brown needs that time. Bobby Jackson wont even be here next year.

Run With the Youngins

Personally, I'd like to see Natt's lineup be Hawes, Thompson, Garcia, Greene, and Brown. All those guys can run. I'd have them run like hell, even on made shots. If Brown walked the ball up, I'd bench him for Beno. No walking allowed. With Hawes and Thompson having good speed for big men, they could get good post position on the break and with the other team not having the defense set up it would be easier for Brown to find them in the post. The downside is the turnovers that would happen, but at this point I'll take the turnovers over the walk-it-up-the-floor offense.

Udrih Has Competition In Sacramento

Udrih_Beno_sac.jpg
Sacramento guard Beno Udrih has plenty of competition for minutes even after signing a five-year, $32.3 million contract this past summer.
"One of the things we have as a luxury is having other (point guards) where, if you don't do the job now, then we'll move those guys in and around," interim coach Kenny Natt said. "When guys get that message that the coach is going to hold us accountable, and (that) if we're not getting it done, we're … sitting down but that all the players have an opportunity to play, it works well both ways."
Rookie Bobby Brown has played some key minutes for the Kings recently.
"Obviously, Beno is our starting point guard, and we're going to continue to go with him," Natt said. "Beno is our leading point guard, and we'll go with that based on how the game is going."

Keep it up Bobby I wanna see some increased minutes for you.

I am not a Beno supporter. Dude flat out is wack. He has tunnel vison, always seems to only look at the basket or ground.....not....his teammates.

Natt is giving Beno no benefit of the doubt. As soon as Beno does a turnover, Natt gives Brown the thumb to get out on the court. Of course, he does the same thing when Brown does a stupid turnover also. But I've noticed that Brown is the one doing the fewer brain-dead turnovers, so he's getting a lot more time. I'd like to see Brown be the one getting 30+ minutes, and I'd like to see him be left in during the 4th quarter.

This really should be Bobby Brown vs. Bobby Jackson. I know BJax is popular around here for sentimental reasons, but there's basically zero reason he should be playing. He only looks for his own shot and is shooting a horrible percentage, and while he plays decent defense, he's really not helping things out there. I don't have a problem with Beno starting and getting the minutes. He's still more or less the same guy he was last year, except for this recent mini-slump.

But Bobby Brown has earned every single one of Bobby Jackson's minutes. Time for BJax to hit the pine.

I love Bobby J, but I never expected he was going to play as much as he has. You're right, Brown should be getting Bobby J's minutes. I'm beginning to cringe when BJax has the ball. Last game, on one possession, he just dribbled and dribbled and dribbled until he lost it out of bounds. Or he just jacks up shot after shot to a poor shooting percentage.

Yes, his defense on Baron Davis was really good, but that doesn't mean he should be getting so many minutes over Brown. I'd rather keep my memories of BJax as he was, than watch him shoot and dribble those memories into oblivion. :(

The only reason any of these guys are seeing minutes is because we have to fatten them up for trading. If it turns out we can't trade them, then playing Beno over Brown is a huge mistake. But you can't blame the organization too much for trying.

They don't need to do that with BJax, tho. He's an ender this year and everybody knows what he is and isn't at this point. If he has a value to anybody, it's more likely to be as an ender to throw into a deal to make salaries work.
