Ben better than Vince at this point? (split)

You equate my comments about Ben’s return with calling someone “garbage”? That’s a stretch. Yeah, I’m confused to see Ben back on the Kings roster. And if he’s getting playing time this year, I’ll be disappointed as well as confused. But I don’t call him “garbage.” He’s a good kid, works hard, and is a terrific athlete. I just don’t see him as a contributor for us. But if he’s really going to be in our roster, I hope I’m wrong about him. So where in there do you equate my sentiments about Ben as no different than calling him garbage?
How would playing Ben be any worse than playing Vince Carter? At least there is some small amount of hope for Ben and he's still a amazing athlete which Carter is not and yet Carter on here is praised like some amazing person/player just cause he's a "mentor" and I have seen countless times how "he had an amazing season" and all this when he really didn't and has been also really bad for sometime.

I'm sorry, but Vince Carter is still a much better player than BMac and it's not even close. There is literally nothing that BMac can do better right now except maybe jump higher (and it would still be close).

You're dumping on Vince Carter? Wow...

MOD NOTE: I split this into its own thread. This should be ... interesting.

Ben better at Vince? at what exactly? maybe the only thing Ben has over VC is athleticism but that's to be expected considering the age gap

One end of the bench guy was traded for another end of the bench guy. They did Temple a favor by trading him to place he could play a lot. The trade has no effect on the team's fortunes -- there are a couple of situations in which Ben could help but that's it. The trade was about doing a favor for Temple because of all the good things he did for the team. This could generate a lot of good will with agents, and help change the Sacramento-as-Siberia image. Pretty straightforward, absolutely nothing to be upset about.

Ben was ranked 506th in RPM. Carter ranked 168th. Ben honestly shouldn't even be in the NBA anymore at this point. The only reason he is still around is because he was a lottery pick years ago. The kid had one good year at Kansas and parlayed it into close to $24 million in earnings to do nothing in the NBA outside of one decent year under Malone.

You are comparing an NBA perennial all-star legend to a journeyman NBA player that will probably end up in Europe.

The thread say's at this point VC was a perennial All Star 11 years ago and what your implying is not true currently. I'm comparing a 41 year old who has not played well in years with a 20 something year old who other than one brief small stint with us to end a season a couple years back has sucked.

I don't want to be baited into slamming Ben - he is a nice guy who just has the same problem as Nik, Jimmer, and maybe Willie (but I hope not) and that is a lack of machismo and fire in the belly and drive and assertiveness and thirst to win and dread to lose. But I like Ben and don't want to climb all over him. He never really like disrespect the uniform. He's not a villian

But how you gonna dis Vince Carter??? Ya he's 40. He sits with ice on his knees most games. But his influence on the guys around him is enormous - he is one of the great ones. And he beat Lebron's team last year.

Vince came here as a legend and a mentor for the kids, he was a very good player too, even at 41, Atlanta is lucky to have him at the min

He saw more min last year here , then Ben will probably see this year

I Liked Ben, but he is a 3rd String SG, unless Bogi or Buddy is injured, I dont see him getting time( I suppose garbage min to rest rotation)
He might be used as filler in a trade as an expiring, but my guess is next year he will be in europe

Vince is 41

Can’t be counted on on the court at all at that juncture

Disagree, but at this point we have enough old fellas around here. May as well have Slamson toss out subscriptions to AARP out at halftime instead of mini basketballs.

Would rather have a younger fella on the roster. Yes even Ben.
