[Belated] Doug Christie Named Head Coach

Hope it's not now Kings players reunion happy fest. Bobby Jackson already rumored to be in the mix. Who else? No, no not him:rolleyes:
Bobby Jackson is one of the more well-respected assistant coaches in the league and one hell of a defensive coach (his Stockton Kings and Summer League champ Kings teams played some of the best schematically sound defense I’ve ever seen from the Kings, which is a low bar for sure but still good).

He’s also above all else loyal to Doug.

It was widely reported at the time that Jerry West told Vivek to hire Mike Malone. And Doug has is a company man which is not a knock on Doug as head couch, but it is on what Vivek wants under him. ….From ESPN’s Ramona Shellborne on Mike Malone’s hiring… A source close to the situation told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard that legendary player and general manager Jerry West, now a consultant with the Warriors, has been counseling Ranadive through the hiring process. Ranadive is in the process of interviewing GM candidates, including Chris Wallace and Travis Schlenk.”
Vivek was also a minority owner of the Warriors at that time too. So he had first hand contact with Malone as an assistant coach and was the one who made the hire.

Good to see everyone again!

As for all the coaching news, I’m happy they brought DC back. I previously stated that I was hopeful he’d get to continue on with a full offseason to implement his own ideas.

Further, I’d be ok with BJ coming back, too. Mike Woodson would be ok, I suppose.

In a dream scenario I’d love to see Rick Adelman brought back in the same role that Rick brought in Coachie Pete Carrill during our Webber era heyday. How cool would that be?

It'd be a nice full circle moment, sure, but if Rick won't come back for his son, he ain't coming back for Doug.
