Bee: Kings eye Hedo reunion

Well he's setting the bar pretty high there with hedo, don't you think? ;)

Well he could be just showing that there are alternatives, that's all. Anyway for all we know it could be SAR and Hedo at the core of the deal.

If I read that Geoff traded Artest for Hedo, then I'll join the wtf crowd. Until then I assume he is going to leverage the Knicks deal for all it is worth.

I will be truly shocked if Geoff trades Artest for crap. I still think the Maloofs would rather keep Artest than give him away for crap.

I notice how Petrie became dumber as Amick took over the Kings beat. Maybe it isn't Petrie and it's actually Amick?

You know, if you guys panic like this over every article what are you possibly going to do when things actually happen?

You have to pace yourselves. It's only July 4 and we have a long TDOS ahead of us.

:p

VF we didn't have all these articles last year we got Salmons and we were done. It was pretty much known last yeat that we were standing pat with the roster. This year they speak of change which promotes intrigue

You have a short memory, my friend. Last year we were supposedly interested in Songaila and Devean George and a whole bunch of other people, which made no sense at all:

Bee 7/3/06:

The Kings have had their own conversations outside of Wells, inquiring about former New Orleans point guard Speedy Claxton, center Joel Przybilla, former Kings forward Darius Songaila (most recently with Chicago), and former Los Angeles Lakers small forward Devean George.
The Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram reports the Kings also are one of four teams with interest in former Dallas center DJ Mbenga, who is a restricted free agent.

With the Kings lacking punch behind Mike Bibby, Claxton, 28, would provide it on both ends of the court. Considering the Hornets agreed to terms with former Kings guard Bobby Jackson on Sunday, Claxton is not likely to return. The Sixth Man of the Year candidate averaged 12.3 points, 4.8 assists and 1.5 steals last season.

And another:

Magic's Smith discounts report on deal for Ron Artest
Brian Schmitz | Sentinel Staff Writer
11:18 AM EDT, July 5, 2007

Orlando Magic General Manager on Thursday discounted a report in the Sacramento Bee that Magic forward Hedo Turkoglu might be traded for Kings guard/forward Ron Artest.

Earlier in the day, the agent for Artest had told the Sentinel that the report was "just talk."

"I haven't heard anything like that," agent Mark Stevens told theSentinel. "As far as I'm concerned, Ron's still with the Sacramento Kings."

TheSacramento Bee reported that the Kings asked the Magic if Turkoglu were available. Turkoglu played his first three seasons in Sacramento.

It is believed that the Kings are trying to deal Arest, a lightning rod of controversy the past few seasons.

"I guess anything is possible, but no, haven't heard this one," Stevens said.

Read somewhere else that it was actually KT, not Ron, being discussed for a Hedo deal. But take that for what it's worth.

And that of course would be good. Hard to imagine. But good. Better player, or atr least more useful one, better guy. Adn the contract would be no worse/longer. In fact wiht Hedo holding an option on the last year, I guess even a tad better. Problem being that we have seen what havoc those bleeping player option years can play -- destroy a guy's trade value because the team trading fro him has no idea if he is going to opt in or not. Still, would be more moveable after this year than KT would be.

UNLESS this is used in aquiring Darko and getting rid of either KT or SAR. Maybe Artest and KT for Darko and Hedo. Hedo has the same length on his contract as KT just for less money. It would save us about 6 million over the next 3 years.

Hedo for Artest no way!

Artest for Darko and other player if needed to make it work with Orl, sure.

Artest to NY for Lee and expiring contracts sure...sure. Either of the going for David Lee or Darko for Artest and expirings would be awesome.

Bibby to the Cavs for Anderson, and expirings even better, then we can pursue Steve Blake in FA with the MLE.

The problem obviously is K9, and a quickly aging Miller and SAR. Our biggest black hole is the 4 which is so important, especially in the very competitive West. Since Webber was injured we've been getting beaten around so badly by other teams. We need Darko at 4/5, Lee at 4 with Hawes/Miller at 5. I'd love to have Darko and Lee, Lee through a trade to NY for Artest and Darko as a FA.

Bibby had a terrible year and is making way too much $, hopefully he bounces back next year if we cannot trade him in the offseason, but I'd try very hard to trade him...the Cavs are begging for him and Anderson & Lee are very aggresive utility guys that play with lots of passion and that's what we need. A cheaper option is JWill2, who I hope we sign back for cheap. We need to come away this offseason with some more quality big men on the team like Lee, Darko, possibly Anderson V. Miller and SAR are withering away by old age very quickly before our eyes and we will have a hard time getting anything in a trade for them.

Please GP not another last year where we were eaten alive on the boards!!!!

hell yes.

I would agree to drive KT to the airport, pack up his house after he left, and find a place for Hedo to live. Gratis.
